He therefore called for Ghanaian’s support, so the team can go ahead and defeat the Germans in their next game, which also determines which of the two top teams will qualify to the round 16.
Below is the full text of the press statement unedited Sulley Ali Muntari sent to GhanaCelebrities.com
First of all I want to say that, I respect the coach’s decision totally, and as a member of the Ghana Black Stars, will serve mother Ghana and die a little to raise her flag high.
Whatever is going on in the media circles is untrue and I have the utmost respect for my teammates, coach, administrators and the entire team personnel.
We have a very important game ahead of us against Germany, which requires harmony and unity in order for us to advance to the next stage.
I will plead that you continue with your support, so that we stay focused on the task ahead.

The opening ceremony of the first World Cup on the African soil was telecast live to the whole world. As the performances went on, the microphone was handed to artistes upon artiste to perform.
Ghanaians who were glued to their television sets to catch a glimpse of the historic event wondered why no Ghanaian was called upon to perform, especially when noise has been made in the Ghanaian media about some musicians (Becca, Kojo Antwi and Shasha Marley) being selected to perform on the opening ceremony.
GhanaCelebrities.com can confirm that the story published about FIFA selection of Becca and co to perform on the opening ceremony was a fabrication. Meanwhile, the show publicized to take place at Rhodes Park in Johannesburg, South Africa, from June 9 to 11 to welcome and entertain the football fans, prior to the tournament was a flop.
Kojo Antwi and Shasha Marley didn’t turn up for the show. The latter didn’t give reasons for not turning up but GhanaCelebrities.com is reliably informed that Kojo Antwi said organization was bad and he didn’t want be part of any ‘yawa’ show. Our source chipped in that, Becca ended up performing alone with some unknown artistes from Abidjan and South Africa.
GhanaCelebrities.com has learnt that FIFA did not contact any musician from Ghana to be part of the opening ceremony, though Osibisa’s ‘Sunshine Day’ was sang by an unknown artiste at the ceremony.
The concert put together in partnership with FIFA and PinkraMedia has been postponed to Sunday after the Black Stars of Ghana versus Serbians match. The reason for the postponement is simple, the various Ghanaian artistes billed to perform on the night such as Mimi, Samini, KK Fosu, Kwaw Kese and Obrafour boycotted the event.
The reason for the boycott is that their balances due them has not paid. The contract they signed stated that balances would be paid before the show and this has not been met.
GhanaCelebrities.Com is reliably informed that the were reported screen of chaos at the venue. FIFA TV and other TV stations were said to be at the venue to do their job but the Ghanaian artistes ‘cared less’ because their contracts were breached.
Some of the organizers are believed to have spent the money FIFA put in the organization of the concert. Though the show is rescheduled for Sunday, the Ghanaian artistes have categorically stated that, they will not mount the stage if their balances due them are not fully paid.
The concert dubbed World Cup celebration was earlier on slated on the 10th of June 2010 just after the opening ceremony. Meanwhile, Ghana’s Black Stars will commence their campaign with the Serbians on the 13th June, welcome the Australians on the 19th and slot it out with the Germans in the last group match on the 23rd of June.
Ghana is in group D alongside Serbia, Australia and Germany.
As part of the programmes to usher in the very first World Cup on the land of Africa,Mimi is billed to perform in Pretoria, South Africa. The concert is put together in collaboration with FIFA and Kofi PinkraMedia. The concert comes off on the 11th June after the World Cup opening ceremony on the 10th June 2010.
The concert which is a World Cup celebration would be broadcast by FIFA on some selected channels in the world. There will be exclusive interviews after the concert.
The Ghana Music Awards 2010 ‘Discovery of the Year’ nominee is the only female to perform on the night. However, she will share the big stage with fellow Ghanaians Samini, Sarkodie, Castro Destroyer, Praye and from South Africa Jozi Jozi.
GhanaCelebrities.Com will publish exclusive pictures of the concert after the show. The first World Cup in South Africa will last a month and commences on the 11th of June to 11th July.
Ghana is in group D alongside Serbia, Australia and Germany. The Black Stars will commence their campaign with the Serbians on the 13th June, welcome the Australians on the 19th and slot it out with the Germans in the last group match on the 23rd of June.
Ladies, imagine the man you love, whom you are legally married to and with a child to show for it, tells you that the day you agreed to marry him was the day you went wrong. To make it worst, you caught this same husband cheating on you, not only cheating but cheating with a person of the same sex? G-A-Y as in gay? Yes man to man. Well wait a minute, they call those men bisexual.
Yvonne Okoro, the beautiful Ghanaian actress who people often mistake as Jackie Appiah’s twin sister played Ruby in the romantic, drama and comedy movie ‘4Play’. She played the wife of the bisexual man, who upon finding his husband in the hotel room cheating with his fellow man went into a state of shock.
“4PLAY” is a romantic comedy filled with love, lies, deceit and betrayal created around four best friends. It tells a story of four industrious young ladies and best friends who happen to be caught up with the wrong men in a deceptive web of love. Hence the Good (Jezel and Rex) played by Jacky Appiah and John Dumelo; the Bad (Ruby and Jayke) played by Yvonne Okoro and Omar Sherif; the Ugly (Angie & Alvin) played by Roseline and Majid Michel and finally the Dirty, played by Juliet Ibrahim as Nivera.
Like what any other woman will do, Yvonne begins to look out for reasons why her husband will prefer a man’s backside to a woman’s adorable pus**y. Yvonne was traumatized such that she turned to her friends to share the secret of her husband banging another man and look for encouragement when in actual fact; her friends are no saints and have skeletons in their cupboards.
Yvonne’s role was emotional. She played the role so competently. GhanaCeleberities.Com thinks whoever casted her for that role has done a great job. She brought life to the character. She cried when necessary, and shouted when appropriate. If every movie will come with right castings, we might see tremendous change in the Ghanaian movies.
Yvonne Okoro started acting in 2002 with role in ‘Sticking to the Promise’. Also made a cameo appearance in ‘Tentacles’, a hit mini series produced by the Theo Akatugba for Point Blank Media Concepts. She was then casted to play Jackie Appiah’s resemblances in ‘Beyonce’.
Aside ‘4Play’, Yvonne can boast with the following movies ‘The Return Of Beyonce’, ‘The Return Of Beyonce 2’, ‘Beyonce 2: The President’s Daughter’, ‘Beyonce: The President’s Daughter’, , ‘Desperate To Survive’, ‘The Game’, ‘Agony Of Christ’, ‘Royal Battle’, ‘Queen Of Dreams’, ‘Le Hotelier’ in France and a whole lot more.
Some movie lovers GhanaCelebrities.com spoke to after the premieres were full of praises to the young actress. These are some of the comments… “Wow! I like the movie because of Yvonne Okoro, I never knew she is a real talent, I will look out more for her movies”. “She is so charming, incredible and adorable”. “I think the Ruby role; best fitted her, now we have another talent”. “As emotional as I am, I nearly cried upon seeing Yvonne going through all that with her husband, I think this movie is full of lessons”.
The premiere was well attended, I call it ‘mad rush for 4Play’. I don’t know if it has to do with the fact that Venus Films is the leading production house of Ghanaian movies or whether people came there just to catch a glimpse of‘soft’ porn as the trailer says. But the truth of the matter was that the place was packed to capacity.
I am not good at rating movies; I think this is a good effort from Venus Films. However, my only problem with the movie is the bad language used throughout. I don’t recommend the movie to minors.
Before I forget, the various explicit sex scenes in the trailer were all taken out. Thanks for your supportive “bashing” and constructive criticisms.
Every good thing has an end and all too soon the reign of Wutah has come to an end as greediness have divided the duo. Awards are given to people who are worthy to be awarded and not people who think they need to be rewarded.
It seems Ghanaians have heard the very last from the group Wutah as their ‘Burning Desire’ to live the ‘Big Dream’ has been cut short. Very often, disagreement, money or women are blamed when a group splits but this time around, jealousy is believed to be the cause of their breakup.
I have always believed in one of Williams Shakespeare’s quotes ‘there is no art to find the minds construction on the face’. This wise quote means a lot. You meet people, they smile with you but you can’t tell what they are actually thinking. You can’t really say what a person is thinking just by looking at their face.
In every group, there is one who stands out as the leader or who really get the group going. Take the group ‘Akyeame’ and ‘Buk Bak’ for instance. After the breakup of those groups, it was clear Okyeame Kwame was the person who had the group running just as Bright Bling Bling Sparkles was to Buk Bak. Also mention Nananom and Sidney (now Barima) comes in mind. For Wutah, PV might get the nod. This is undisputable. It is not too clear why they are going solo but is there an element of jealousy out there? Per the explanation PV gave to Hitz FM, Risky is jealous that PV was awarded as the Best Male Vocal Performer at the just ended Ghana Music Awards.
He said “There are issues that trigger other things like the Ghana Music Awards where I was given the Best Male Vocal performer award. It means one artiste within a group was picked and awarded. It means they singled out one; it had to be like that. There was no way two people could have been given that award so he (Risky) is also embarking on his project to probably bring out what is in him”.
The Best Male Vocal Performance of the year went on to say that his partner has his solo project coming out but he is not too eager to release an album. Meanwhile, Risky or Wutah Kobby was quick to deny breaking up news. He said they agreed to work on solo albums respectively and that they are working on an album to be released next year.
What informs the decision of a successful group like Wutah to go solo? Well for now Wutah is no more, what you will be hearing from now is either Wutah Kobby or Wutah PV.
Wutah is a Hausa word which means fire. It has Daniel Morris (Risky) and Frank Osei (Papa Virus or PV) as members. They were discovered during the maiden edition of the Nescafe Africa Revelation music competition, where they place second to Praye.
Before their breakup, they had two albums ‘Anamontuo’ in 2005 and ‘Burning Desire’ in 2009. They also had a song ‘Esikyire’ on Appietus Compilation in 2006. Their debut album, Anamontuo, was a major success which won them an unprecedented 11 Ghana music award nominations.
Some of their popular songs include ‘Adonko’, ‘Big Dreams’, ‘Goosy Gander’, ‘Esikyire (Don’t Change Your Style), ‘Burning Desire’, ‘Kotosa’, ‘Jah Will Be There’.
Anytime I listen to Asem’s track ‘Run Away’ featuring Irene Logan, I feel it’s tight. Listening to the rendition by Iwan, methinks it’s exceptional. Iwan is currently using the power of remix to write his name in the minds of music lovers especially those who love Ragga and Dance Hall.
Iwan is signed on to the Bullhaus Entertainment, featured in a number of remixes. His presence has already been felt happily ever after on shows like Miss Ghana 2008, Joy FM’s Nite with the Stars, Exopa Fashion Nite, Kwaw Kese Beach Bash, Sound Splash, Ghana Loves Haiti Concert, Face of Tertiary and a lot whole lot more.
At the Banquet Hall, State House last Saturday to launch the new G-Series mobile phones by rLG Communications, manufacturers of rLG phones, Iwan was the last person to perform on the night to end the memory event. He treated the audience to the best of his remixes.
Being the last performer, Iwan proves himself to the audience that; he does not only have a talent but also a force to reckon with now. The connoisseurs of the game have already tipped him for greater things.
Iwan’s biggest assert is his unique voice, which is why he is presently threading on a music genre, which a lot fear is a complicated area. You need to have the voice to do Ragga/Dance Hall.
The show was mainly attended by the youth. For over 10 minutes, Iwan was in his element dishing out nice tunes. The audience responded back by dancing and singing along with him.
Abrantie Amakyi Dede again was the biggest performer on the night, though 4X4 also managed to attract the attention of the youth, the ‘Serious’ man’s performances drew both old and new to the standing floor.
Iwan will go places if his management will allow him to perform with live band. Anytime you hear this line ‘It’s a Bullhaus thing’, you know Iwan is in the building.
Culture is defined as the way people live, eat and dance. The beauty of South African’s culture was brought live in Ghana at the one of the nation’s premiere centres National Theatre.
UMOJA, a South African’s music and dance theatre production is a combination of cultural, contemporary, gospel and hip performances all in one electrifying stage production. It’s a theatre production which has never been experienced in Ghana.
The word UMOJA means ‘The Spirit Of Togetherness’. Initial name for the dance was ‘Pals of Africa’, it was changed to ‘Baobab’ and renamed it UMOJA. It was believed to have come up as a result of the history behind the dance.
The UMOJA Africa is two hour show, which has certain similarities that we identify in some of our Ghanaian dances; this explains that Africans have resemblance in their culture which makes us one people with common destiny. The energy displayed by the dancers must not go unnoticed. They exhibited well choreograph dance movements coupled with excellent singing ability.
The UMOJA tells a story of ToddTwala and Thembi Nyandeni, who lived a long dream to create UMOJA. Todd grew up in a township outside Johannesburg, called George Goch. In 1968, Todd and her family woke up to a bulldozer at their front door. They were forced to leave. They then settled in Soweto (an acronym for SOuth WEstern TOwnship) on the outskirts of Johannesburg. The housing was in the form of box-like huts with no electricity or running water.
Todd met Thembi in the township of Soweto and they clicked. Even though losing contact, they both chose a career in the entertainment world as singers and dancers. They were part of a number of Black tribal musicals and toured the world from London’s West End to New York’s Broadway, across the United States, then back throughout Europe and Scandinavia, to as far down as Australia and New Zealand.
Todd and Thembi choreographed their own dance pieces, and performed in front of small audiences. These first pieces were the building blocks of UMOJA, which they named ‘Pals of Africa’ in 1982 when they started the 2-man, or rather 2-woman group. They started saving money they made after each performance into buying customs and recruiting more members. The numbers increased and the name was changed to BAOBAB, after inspiration from Hugh Masekela.
The name was again changed from Baobab to ‘UMOJA’ a name that represented what they were all about. The name has united and empowered as many as underprivileged kids as they could, giving the kids the opportunities. From 2 members, UMOJA can now boast of over 35 members with several awards to their credit.
I think UMOJA is just terrific. I can summarize it by saying it’s breathtaking. I am happy to have been part of this experience. I don’t like UMOJA, I love it.
He was humble until the 10th of April 2010 when he was announced as the ‘Artiste of the Year’ at the Ghana Music Awards. Prior to that, he has been parading himself on the streets as Ghana’s fastest rapper.
I am sure you have gotten the clue. If not, let me give you more clues. On that night, he won the ‘Discovery of the Year’ award, making him the first artiste with first album to win the ultimate ‘Artiste of the Year’. Aside those awards, he won the following awards, ‘Hip hop/hiplife Artist of the Year’, ‘Best Rapper of the year’ and ‘Album of the Year’.
Yes his name is Sarkodie. This write-up will explain why musicians in Ghana will continue to die as paupers. They don’t LEARN. Some human beings forget so soon where they come from, especially after managing to attain a little success in their art.
As part of the program to celebrate Vodafone’s first anniversary in Ghana, a show dubbed ‘020 LIVE CONCERT’ has been put together. There was a press conference to introduce the artistes billed to perform on the night and interact with the media.
The microphone went around and the artistes lined up endorsed the event and the Vodafone foundation which will be launched later on. The artistes includes Ruff n Smooth, Richie, Eazzy, P Square, Sarkodie, Ikechukwu and 4X4
Sarkodie said nothing better than to laud and shower praises on himself saying “I am listened to even more than the president”. WHO CARES? A quick question was thrown to him as to why he didn’t say anything concerning the event but talking about the fact that he is listened to than the president.
The reply to that question confirms that Sarkodie didn’t read the Vodafone contract before signing it or probably another person signed it for him. He said “Well I don’t know what’s going on here, I wasn’t briefed”.
Last week at an event to give out the various cash prizes to the recent Ghana Music Award Winning musicians, Sarkodie disgraced himself with some usless attitude. People thought he will calm down on his pomposity but Sarkodie was once again full of himself with his “guy guy attitude” today at the Vodafone Press Conference. He descended to the gutters by taking about miscommunication between himself and the organizers.
Sarkodie talked about the fact that he’s done enough and a lot of ‘free shows’ when nobody has asked him if the show is for free or not. I think he has forgot that, as a new artiste on your way to the top, you will have to do free shows. This ‘MISCOMMUNICATION’ vibe made the Head of Strategy and Brands of Vodafone Ghana, Uche Ofodille squeeze her face in shock.
He digressed and started blabbing that, he only took ‘coins’ from Vodafone before accepting to perform on the show because they can’t pay him the actual amount he is worth. He said “I only took coins from Vodafone”.
The conference room went mute amidst Sarkodie’s shocking revelations then there came a voice from Vodafone “But we still paying you”. This drew laughter from the people present.
Honestly, what I gathered from Sarkodie’s utterances is that, it didn’t go well with the organizers and even before the Press Conference started, they regret to have signed on Vodafone and wish to redraw him.
GhanaCelebrities.com wants answers to these questions:
If Sarkodie was not briefed on what was happening, who dragged him to the press conference?
Who signed his Vodafone contract? Is it his manager?
Betray a confidence, as in A real lady doesn’t kiss and tell. This idiom originally alluded to betraying an amorous or sexual intimacy. Kissing and telling is the ‘lamest’ thing a man or woman can do after they had spent a night with the opposite sex.
When relationships go sour, kiss and tell then comes in but who cares about what happens in your relationship or your one-night-stand with the lady on across the street?
Mimi aka Divalish is due to launch her new single ‘Kiss ‘N’ Tell’. According to the musician known in real life as Wilhelmina Abu-Andani, ‘Kiss ‘N’ Tell’ is a hip life song which is about people going about kissing and telling a third party.
Since, men are the worst culprit when it comes to kissing and telling. Mimi feels it’s ungentlemanly or unladylike for any individual to tell what goes on in their relationships, flings or one night stands marriage etc. she said to the men shuusshhhhh!!!! About their privacies and whatever goes on. She finally said “we don’t wanna know”.
Inspiration of the song
Mimi got the inspiration to write the song based on a sad story of her very good friend who fell in love with a gentleman whom she thought her world revolved around only to find out later that there was no such word as PRIVACY in their relationship of one year. The guy blatantly and consistently discussed their sexual affairs with his friends hence writing a song ‘Kiss ‘N’ Tell’ to tell people it just doesn’t worth it.
Singing
She started singing in church at a very tender age. She has hobbies like reading, kissing, watch reality shows and surfing the net and is currently on Movingui Records and Paradise Entertainment, the premier management team.
Birth place
Mimi hails from Tamle in the Northern Region of Ghana. She was therefore born in Kumasi to Mr. Richard Abu-Andani and Mrs. Jane Abu. she speaks 6 languages, which includes the queen’s language, Hausa and Spanish. She also speaks her native dialect Dabgani plus other Ghanaian dialects such as Dagaare, Twi and Fante.
Education
She had her primary and junior high education at Holy Spirit School in Kumasi where she was the school prefect, then to Aburi Girls’ Secondary School, University of Cape Coast where she studied Chemistry. She also attended Spanish University, Alicante, where she studied Public Relation and Spanish Studies.
Album
After representing Ghana at the Big Brother Africa reality show in South Africa, Mimi released an album ‘MUSIC IN ME’ in 2009. The album has songs such as ‘Leave Me Alone’ featuring Captain Planet of 4X4, also ‘Tattoo’ and ‘DJ’.
Message to fans
Mimi has this message to her fans: “Education is the key to success and indeed illiteracy is an incurable disease. Study hard and keep your head up. Also for someone to believe in you, you must believe in yourself first .I love you all and thanks for your support.
On the records, Mimi is working around the clock to become the biggest female performer in Africa.
Well, looking at the Ghana Film Industry, a movie such as ‘Coz Ov Moni’ is long over due in coming. Ghana can boast of juju, robbery and the likes storylines in movies.
One thing we are lacking in Africa is encouragement; and what we have in abundance is back biting and pull-him-down disease. Good to know there are still people in Africa, who still believe in creativity and originality.
If you haven’t seen the latest movie ‘Coz Ov Moni’ dubbed musical film then you have to hold it till its released onto the market, when you finally watch it, you will understand that, a movie like that is not easy to come by.
‘Coz Ov Moni’ is musical film, which is a master piece because it has these two ingredients ‘Creativity’ and ‘Originality’. Are we not tired of always selling America to Americans? It’s about time we started selling Africa to the outside world. I believe we can sell Africa to the world through African way. Are people going to accept this movie?
Amazing thing about the movie is that, it’s strictly pidgin and all the dialogues are done in a musical form and it has never been done before out of Ghana, Africa and in the world.
After the screening, GhanaCelebrities.com engaged M3nsa in a chit chat about the movie. He indicated he is planning in August this year to launch his next album in the US, UK and in Ghana.
Even before it’s released, ‘Coz Ov Moni’ has already been accepted into the following film festivals and events: Rio International Film Festival (Brazil), Pan African Film Festival (Los Angeles), Black Filmmakers International Film Festival (London), Pan African Film Festival (Cannes), Headliner Movie at African Weekender (Sussex).
Below are the excerpts from the chit chat:
GhanaCelebrities.com: Can you tell us where you got the concept from?
M3nsa: Myself and Kubolor, we have always wanted to do an album together, so when we eventually got around to do it, we thought we would do something special and that was what this is. The initial idea was to make an album, where everything was connected from the start to the end by the time we finish this, you know we have one complete story, but in the process we thought, okay we can put pictures and make a film out of it, It’s a great pleasure working with Wanlov the Kubolor.
GhanaCelebrities.com: How do you think this is going to fare on the market?
M3nsa: We can only hope that people will accept it and see where we want to go with this and appreciate the arts.
GhanaCelebrities.com: How do we call this movie is ‘Coz Ov Moni’?
M3nsa: It’s a pidgin musical; I think it has to be given an original name, so pidgin musical is what we are calling it, it’s a musical film.
GhanaCelebrities.com: After the screening, it came out that, the whole movie was centered on you and Wanlov. Some movie enthusiasts thought other artistes should have been given the chance to sing in the movie, they believed that would have added something to the movie….. do you share the same sentiment?
M3nsa: Yes, it centered around us, its important we let the brand be fully represented in the film, the subsequent project we will be doing, we are going to write scripts for other musicians and stuff like that. And also because the writing, we did that when we overseas. So it’s just the two of us, if we wrote it in Ghana, then maybe would have considered … we had other musicians in mind though.
GhanaCelebrities.com: Looking at the numbers, the people appreciate what you guys have done.
M3nsa: I’m happy that all the hard work, the energy, sleepless nights, long journeys, travelling across the continent is all paid off, the people actually appreciate the arts and hopefully this is something that will encourage all the artistes in the country to make something different.
If we are always copying America to Americans, then let’s do something for Americans to copy us too.

History was made at the National Theatre last Saturday, where ‘Coz Ov Moni’, the first full pidgin musical film in the world was screened to a large crowd.
If am not mistaken, if you think of musicians M3nsa and Wanlov the Kubolor, ‘2 Stupid Dogs’, the American animated television series comes in mind. The mannerism of those two could be said to be on the same par with the ‘Coz Ov Moni’ stars.
‘Coz Ov Moni is a musical film which features M3nsa, the composer/rapper/producer and Wanlov Da Kubolor, who is seen around wearing skirt as the main characters. The likes of Samini, Reggie Rockstone, Macho Rapper, Mokin, Panji Anoff, Mutombo and others made cameo appearance.
As the first musical film, every dialogue is in a musical form. The movie was showed twice, 6:30pm and 8:30pm.
‘Coz Ov Moni’ was produced by Panji Anoff of Pidgin Music and directed by King Luu Vision. The movie tells a story of a real life situations in the lives of up coming musicians and it’s a must watch one especially, those who believes in originality.
The audience was packed to capacity as movie enthusiasts cheered, laughed and clapped throughout the movie. It sure wasn’t a disappointing movie.
Idea
‘Coz Ov Moni’ is a concept for musical album but they turned it into a musical film, so as to avoid doing music video for each of the track on the album. So all the tracks on the album was performed in the movie.
The Story
The ’Cos Ov Moni’ centered on two ‘hustle’ friends M3nsa and Wanlov. The story unfolds as they wake up in the morning with one thing on their mind; to collect a debt owed them by a wily friend.
After getting the money, they set off to blow it off on food, partying and women with hilarious and dramatic consequences. While going through the day, the story highlights real struggles of ordinary young Ghanaians in modern Ghana in spite of the strong elements of humour.
Film Festivals/Event
This film has already made its way into the following film festivals and events: Rio International Film Festival (Brazil), Pan African Film Festival (Los Angeles), Black Filmmakers International Film Festival (London), Pan African Film Festival (Cannes), Headliner Movie at African Weekender (Sussex).

On Saturday, 15th May, 2010 at exactly 2 o’clock all roads leading to the Silver Bird Lifestyle Stores for the launch of Richie’s second album titled “U.K.N.R. – U Know the Name Right” from the stables of Lynx Entertainment.
U Know the Name Right, shorten U.K.N.R. is Richie’s signature tune. It identifies his works, Richie; the brain behind ‘It’s a hit’ is coming out as a singer for the second time.
Already, four songs on the album are in the public domain and the responses are quite encouraging. The tracks are ‘Yaaro’, ‘Ma Nim Tonn’, ‘Intoxicated’, and ‘Asa Fofro’.
Richie does his magic in ‘Yaaro’, telling the whole world his name is here to stay. In ‘Ma Nim Tonn’ which features Tinny, it starts on a funny note. A dog barks then Richie comes in with beautiful line done in English. Tinny’s Ga rap fits in very well. Sway DaSafo was featured in ‘Intoxicated’. SK Blinks also added his French on the ‘Asa Fofro”.
As usual, all your favourite stars from the Lynx Entertainment camp, the Asems, OJ Blaqs, Eazzys, Zigis will be there to support their boss. As Richie said in the Yaaro, “my name is here to stay” and rightly so, he will be a top customer for next year GMA.
Riche was supposed to have released the album earlier on 1st May, 2010 but had to be rescheduled due to little heath problems. After launching the album, there will be signing and photograph session. Just be at the Silver Bird come 15th May, 2010 to be part of history making process.
The Ewe Rapper Ayigbe Edem has issued an official statement to state what necessitated him to record his telephone conversation with his ex-lover Confidence Haugen of Aphrodisiac Night Club.
The rapper who won the Hip Hop Song of the Year with his track ‘You Dey Craze’ apologizes to his fans, observers and Ghanaians as a whole for contributing to the chaos going on now. He is therefore pleading for his carelessness and hopes he is forgiven.
He finally has this to whoever has the recordings “I am therefore pleading with the person responsible to please desist from publishing anymore of these. If the person thinks he or she is doing it in favor of me, I’d like to tell him/her that they are mistaken, as it is rather hurting both parties. I apologize to the music industry, my loved ones, my fans and Ghanaians as a whole, for being careless with my private affairs, resulting in this chaos”.
Below is the full text of the statement UNEDITED.
I have decided to come out publicly with this official statement concerning a private conversation between me and an ex-lover, which has very accidentally found its way into wrong hands and onto the internet.
First of all, I’d like to state that I have the permission of my management to issue this statement on my own behalf. Secondly, I’d like to apologize to my fans, observers and Ghanaians as a whole for contributing to this chaos by being careless for misplacing my phone, which contained sensitive information and for not deleting such information earlier on in the first place. I’d also like to sympathize with the other party involved since this is clearly a private issue for both of us.
I would want to make three major points based on frequently asked questions posed by the media: -
The motive behind the recording and time of the recording,
The question of whether or not this is a stunt for my upcoming album and
A plea to whoever is behind the publication of this recording.
The motive
Life’s lessons have taught me enough in my few years on this earth that when a love relationship goes bad, anything can happen. I have also learnt in my lifetime that when things get out of hand and violence surfaces, the law is harder on the male sex. So it was only right that I armed myself incase violence sets in and I needed evidence to establish that indeed it was a case of a relationship gone bad. I know that not many will agree with me, maybe not until they find themselves in my situation at the time. I don’t regret recording these conversations because they came in handy when I was later on accused of stealing a phone which the other party misplaced at a festival, four months before these recordings took place. However, I regret being careless and loosing it at a function where I was signing autographs just about a month ago.
The question of whether or not this is a stunt for my upcoming album
The reason why the publicity stunt should be ruled out is because I got to where I am today without a publicity stunt and my management has no history of using publicity stunts to shine the numerous artists that have passed through them including me.
There were advantageous times in this saga where my name was dragged through the mud and accused of being a thief to the whole world. I had these recordings but never had any sinister ideas of bringing them out. Why then would I bring them out today?
It was recently brought to my attention that the other party was on one radio station and sort of spoke in favor of my artistry. This clearly showed that the other party had no ill motive towards me and as such gives me no reason whatsoever to make a public spectacle of her, resulting in her humiliation. And I would also want to state that my ex was not begging for a comeback as stated in the title of the video. She was merely asking for a way forward. I strongly believe that someone who knows both parties is in possession of the phone and intends to make a spectacle out of this.
A plea to whoever is behind the publication of this recording
I am therefore pleading with the person responsible to please desist from publishing anymore of these. If the person thinks he or she is doing it in favor of me, I’d like to tell him/her that they are mistaken, as it is rather hurting both parties. I apologize to the music industry, my loved ones, my fans and Ghanaians as a whole, for being careless with my private affairs, resulting in this chaos. Thank you.
It is often said that ‘the best comes from the west’, though there is nothing to prove this saying, it has been an accepted adage.
The best resources in Ghana are said to be found in the western part of the country, like gold, diamond and most importantly cocoa, with the greatest achievement being the discovery of oil in commercial quantities.
To further expose the great things noted with the Western Region, event organizers, Spakhouse Productions is powering a pageant “Face of the West”.
Face of the West is a beauty pageant with a strong purpose of uniting the Western Region on the platter of beauty, education and style. It will, in this process promote the African beauty in its originality. The contest will be devoid of western values of measuring beauty.
The concept seeks for the most beautiful lady in the Western Region with brains to project the true African values.
Forms are now available and being sold at Queens Land Hotel, Chinese Fast Food, Skyy Power FM, ROK FM, and Help FM.
The eventual winner aside being an ambassador to the region, will be expected to help in creating jobs for the youth in Western Region, also touch on sanitation and humanitarian works.
For her prize, she would embark on a trip to South Africa with all expenses paid plus souvenirs and cash.
The second position takes home a plasma TV plus souvenirs and cash, whiles the third placed lady gets a Laptop, souvenirs plus cash price.
Auditions will then be held on the 13th of March 2010 to select contestants for the show. For more information contact call 0244-688236 / 0244-171014.
The name Amanda Jissih commands a lot of respect in the Ghanaian entertainment industry. She is excelling in a male dominated field. She is a producer, a presenter, a host, an emcee, an actress and a singer.
These days for shows or events to be successful, or to have viewers or audiences keep that memorable feelings with them for a every long time, you need an experience, exciting and crowd pulling emcee to stir in the affairs of the program.
Ghana has had a lot of finest emcees pass through the ranks. Most of these emcees are males and there are relatively few of them still available doing what they enjoy doing best. At the opposite end, the numbers of the female emcee are multiplying at a fast pace. Gone are the days when females are looked down upon when it comes to hosting events.
Amanda in a pose
One of such talent is born Amanda Jissih but nicknamed Mandy Jay. Amanda is a hard working lady; she is a radio presenter and hosts a program ‘All About Love’ on Hitz 103.7. Also Amanda is the producer for Joy FM’s Drive Time with Bola Ray and DJ Blacks Weekend Warmer, Open House Party and Joy Beach Jam.
One of the shows she produces on Joy FM have hosted all the international artistes who have graced the stage in Ghana including Jah Rule, Wyclef Jean, Eve, Beanie Man, Busta Rhymes, Mario, Guru, Fat Joe, Shaggy, Omarion, Jay Z.
Amanda with Nollywood star Rita Dominic
As a TV presenter, Mandy returned from the UK with content for Beauty and Style, a show she presented on Metro TV and Pranic Healing on GTV, the station of the nation. She has made a lot of travels to work there or emcee a show or cover a program.
This offered her the opportunity to have and build a good working relationship with the likes of Rita Dominic, Tuface, Wande Coal, D’Banj and the likes. Her good rapport with the Nigerians made her being picked to emcee the City People Magazine Awards dubbed ‘Accra Nite of Movie Excellence’ took place at the Mirage Night Club where 30 Ghanaian and Nigerian movie stars, who have excelled in the movie industries of both countries were honoured.
City People Magazine is a popular Nigerian celebrity publication with wide readership in Nigeria and has introduced into the Ghanaian market. She is the acting president of Art Writers Association of Ghana (AWAG).
Amanda with Nigerian star DBanj
Amanda has a huge thing going on for her, a round face, good sets of teeth, charming looks, pointed nose, crazy eyes and when she speaks; one has no option than to turn to see who owns that relaxing and sexy voice. The best thing I believe to happen to Amanda is her beauty.
Amanda co-hosted City People Magazine Awards with a news reader at Metro TV. Also done PR work for South African and Nigerian musicians. In Nigeria, mostly Mo Hits Records.
Relationship or marriage between celebrities do not mostly work. When both have the same celebrity status, they find it difficult to live in harmony since their status as a celebrity rule their lives. No wonder, celebs jump in and out of courts seeking divorces all the time.
In a recent interview with GhanaCelebrities.com, actress Vicky Zugah revealed that she is still single and this is because her job as an actress has tied her down, to the extent that, it has affected her chances of meeting the right suitors to settle down with.
She said “YES! Am still single, because my career keeps interfering with my chances of getting the right suitor”. Well she is already on her way to un-single.
At the Showbiz Honours, a program to celebrate the Ghanaian stars with actress Nadia Buari being the first recipient. GhanaCelebrities.Com spotted Actress Vicky Zugah and musician Chemphe kicking it real hard. And we mean real hard…
Those two seems to have something going on (probably love has entangled them), as they constantly laugh, smile and admired each other with romantic looks. Perhaps Chemphe was trying to woo her with his lovely voice. Who knows?
Those who do not know much about Vicky, she has the following movies to her credit ‘The Bible’, ‘The Return Of Beyonce’, ‘Tears Of Womanhood’, ‘Pretty Queen’, ‘True Colours’, ‘Girls Connection’, ‘Big Girls Club’, ‘Araba Lawson’, ‘June 4th’, ‘My Dearest Princess’, ‘Cross My Heart’, ‘Total Exchange’.
While Chemphe is singer sand songwriter. He topped most international music video charts with same song ‘Why U Dey Treat Am Bad’. He takes inspiration from music icons like Michel Jackson, Steve Wonder, Bob Marley.
Vicky Zugah and Chemphe, should we expect a celebrity marriage soon?
“Love goes where love is, I can’t deny this” is a line in Wutah’s sensational track ‘Kotosa’. Under normal circumstances no person goes to where he or she is hated. We all want to be at where we are treated well, appreciated and loved.
If love truly goes to where love is, then how can a common mobile phone end a whole relationship purported to be on love? Personally, I think this isn’t right and doesn’t really make sense.
Who thought the Confidence – Ayigbe Edem failed relationship will come out again? Confidence was interviewed on Entertainment Review on 1 May, two days later; a video/audio pops out on YouTube. Interesting.
There is an 8 minutes 15 seconds video/audio feature on YouTube concerning a conversation Confidence and Ayigbe Edem had in the early part of their break up. It is titled ”Confidence Begs Ayigbe Edem”. From the conversation you rather that Confidence is still in love or still holds the Ewe rapper in high esteem she told Peacefmonline.
“… but my favorite is anything Ewe because I am an Ewe girl, so I would say that Ayigbe Edem is my favourite. The album was given to me and that is how I fell in love with his music”.
Like I always say, I will wink, when I hear a song from Tinny, Shilo, Buk Bak or any Ga song from anybody. Confidence was reported to have requested for a track I listen to everyday “Nyornuviade”. If a Ga man who doesn’t speak and understand Ewe likes that song, it’s no deal when Confidence, an Ewe requests for that.
Why do we feel or believe that in Ghana when you end a relationship with your partner means you two cease to be friends or talk again? How many of us allow our loved ones to just leave like that without putting up resistance? Even when we know it’s our fault?
And that exactly what Confidence did in the conversation. She was just apologizing to her man to woo him back. So what’s the deal? I think as humans we must readily be available to apologize when we realize we are at fault.
It doesn’t look clear the motive behind the recordings but there are 4 more recordings to be released according to source.
It is the dream of a young Ghanaian Agnes Ntow to see herself as a successful woman and mentor, who will be in mist of accomplishing her dreams within the media in Africa and America.
Upon getting closer to Agnes Ntow Miss Ghana Africa 2010 finalist, first thing to notice is her good looks but after having a conversation with her, one thing comes out; the brains. She has the beauty and the brains.
When she won the Miss Ghana USA pageant, Miss Agnes Ntow set out on a mission to eradicate child trafficking and prostitution in Ghana. The best way to eradicate such a canker is to tackle the poverty and lack of education aspect of it. And that’s what she has been doing ever since.
One of the jobs considered as a reserved for men is Disc Jockeying, that’s what Agnes enjoys doing. Miss Ntow gets the opportunity to mentor to the teenage African and African American girls through her pogramme ‘Phenomenal Woman’. Also she has a radio show ‘Passport to a World’s View’ which airs on Saturday from 2pm to 4pm Central Time.
Agnes hope to be like Oprah Winfrey and Tyra Banks of Africa, to replicate what they have been doing and also help eradicate all negative connotations associated to Africa and Africans. In doing so, she hopes to uplift the African people spirits by giving them a great sense of hope and pride which in turn help make the African continent a land of great opportunity.
Agnes also want the voice to give a voice to the voiceless and power to empower the powerless by promoting education and advocacy on issues related to women and youth in Africa and America.
These and many more are the things Miss Ntow have planned doing. Miss Agnes is one of the Ghanaian contestants in the Miss Africa USA pageant, described by many as the biggest and most publicized African pageant in the world today.
The Miss Africa USA Pageant is a vision of a Cameroonian American, Lady Kate Njeuma to unite the Community in celebrating the beauty of African women through a showcase culture and talent, empowering young African women in America as Leaders and Goodwill Ambassadors.
Believing that African women can help develop their communities if given the right opportunity and the tools to make a difference, the pageant set out to help build confidence in young women and help them believe in themselves.
The pageant was launched in October 2005 in Norcross, Georgia as Miss Africa Georgia but was changed to its present name after the organization received great feedback after the maiden edition and African girls from all over the United States expressed their interest and readiness in partaking in the competition.
The Miss Africa USA Pageant has evolved from the time it was launched in 2005 to what it is today. It focuses on building confidence and empowering young women to give back to under-served communities in Africa and in the United States of America. Today each delegate works on a micro project to benefit a community in need in Africa or America. Check Photos Of Agness Below.
As politicians seek your vote to make the lives of the people better, Agnes also needs your vote to fight prostitution, child trafficking and negativity associated with Africans. To vote for Agnes Ntow please visit: http://missafricaunitedstates.com/finalists.php

The documentary ‘Zoom Zoom’ – The Professor did not only attract sports personalities, it also got the attention of some entertainment personalities. Actress Nadia Buari and Ama K. The MC of the night Ama K. Abebrese who is casted to feature in the movie ‘Sinking Sands’ by Leila Djansi, the director of the hit movie ‘I Sing of a Well’ kicked off the donation train by giving out 1,000 Ghana Cedis. ‘Check Mate’ actress Nadia Buari also gave 1,500 Ghana Cedis.

Also Nadia Buari was spotted wearing a “promise ring”. Can you read my mind? Hold it. You never can tell, lets cross our fingers, Nadia might follow Castro and Samini in a secret nuptial.
Last Saturday at the Silverbird Cinema in Accra, well wishers were taken down memory lane as they remembered staying up late in those days to watch Azumah Nelson do what he knows how to do best in the boxing ring; which is beating people. The legendary boxer Azumah Nelson was celebrated. Born in Bukom, Accra in 1958, Azumah Nelson was WBC World Champion for over a decade and was arguably the greatest boxer to come out of Africa.
For 11 solid years, Azumah Nelson has been torturing opponents, not only beating them like the father like son fashion but also terrorizing their life in the ring. Only few stood their grounds against the boxing professor in the ring.
A nation that does not honour its heroes is not worth dying for. In this country, heroes die before they are remembered or celebrated. It was welcoming news when movie maker Sam Kessie put together this documentary ‘Zoom Zoom – The Professor’ which is about the life and exploits of the boxing professor. The idea for the documentary was also to raise funds to support the Azumah Nelson Foundation.
Azumah Nelson Sports Academy which is located at Akuse, Ghana it’s a non profit, non regions, non partisan organization to develop and inspire less privilege young people. The cost of the project in Akuse is estimated at USD$23,444,960 to Athletic tracks, Swimming Pools, Basketball & Tennis Courts, Chapel, Dining Hall, Primary & Secondary Schools, Sports Medical Centre, Student Hostels, Staff Apartments.

The documentary was written and Produced by Atlanta-based Ghanaian filmmaker Sam A Kessie. It was narrated by Ashley Morrison and sponsored by Geodrill and The Azumah Nelson Foundation.
To climax a beautiful night, some of the DVDs auctioned. It was well patronized.
The Ghanaian or African movie industry as a whole is plagued with the same old faces; new promising talents are not given the prospect of exhibiting their hidden talents.
One of such talent is a lady who is filled with hidden talent up her sleeves and set to give producers reasons to have a second thought as to whom they contact to feature in their movies when she is around, that actress is Yvonne Okoro who is gradually warming herself into the hearts of movie lovers.
Not only is Yvonne beautiful, she has the talent, a good sense of humour, down to earth and a delight to watch on screen. Before she was contracted to play Ciara in the movie ‘Beyonce’ after the facial reconstructive surgery of Jackie Appiah, actress Yvonne Okoro has since been part of few movies.
In a recent chat with GhanaCelebrities.com, Yvonne recalled how she got into acting and the passion she has for it. She spoke about her dream to become a Lawyer in the not distant future. She is ‘very’ single lady but not looking, because she wants to devote her time and energy into her acting career. She is also writing a book which will be ready soon.
There have been conflicting statements in the media as to whether she is a Ghanaian or a Nigerian, even though most outlets have stated that she is a Ghanaian but her name is of Nigerian origin. Miss Okoro set the record straight. She said “I don’t think my nationality should be important. I am just an African”.
She was born Yvonne Chinyere Okereke Okoro by a Nigerian man and Ghanaian mum. She is a mix and calls herself Ghanaian, a Nigerian and an African. She comes from a very large family, she is more or less introvert, who try to come out of that shell. Yvonne believes she can accomplish whatever she wants to do with determination and perseverance.
Yvonne was the first child of her mum, and 5th born of all siblings put together. Her strict dad who believes in education didn’t like the fact that she will choose acting over education, though there is a wild perception about people who comes on television. Her dad is not still happy that she is on television.
Background
Miss Yvonne attended Achimota Preparatory School then after which she went to the Lincoln Community School then to Faith Montessori School, after to Mfanstiman Girls Senior High School after which she continued at University of Ghana, Legon where she did Bachelor of Arts by combing English and linguistics. She continued later at the University De not in France to study Press Civilization, Drama and Marketing. Yvonne have always wanted to live in France so when the opportunity came, she didn’t want to miss it.
Career
Yvonne entered into mainstream acting in 2002 after her Senior High Education. Her first movie was ‘Sticking to the Promise’ produced by the Nigerian producer Theo Akatugba. She also played a cameo role in the hit mini series ‘Tentacles’ produced by the same producer for Point Blank Media Concepts.
Those roles paved way for her to feature in ‘Beyonce’, her first major movie. When the issue of searching for Jackie Appiah’s resemblances came up, Abdul Sallam Mumuni of Venus Films fell on Yvonne’s shoulders and she delivered. And now people think she is a twin sister of Jackie Appiah.
Yvonne was away for 1 year to study, now spark up her acting career. For the records, the outspoken Yvonne has plans of becoming a lawyer in the next 10 years. She has also featured in a movie in France which is also yet to released. Yvonne can speak French in addition to English and her mother tongue Tongue. She has 12 movies so far to her credit, they include The Return Of Beyonce, The Return Of Beyonce 2, Beyonce 2: The President’s Daughter, Beyonce: The President’s Daughter, 4Play, Desperate To Survive, The Game, Agony Of Christ, Royal Battle, Queen Of Dreams and ‘Le Hotelier’ in France.
