Who Succeeds Okyeame Kwame?


Your favourite rapper’s favourite rapper Okyeame Kwame, better known as ‘Rap Doctor’ or the ‘Best Rapper Alive’ won multiple awards in the Ghana Music Awards 2009 edition due to the popularity of his hit track, Woso; he picked up the Hiplife / Hip Hop Artiste(s) of the Year, ‘Video of the Year’ and ‘Hip Hop Song of the Year’, as well as ‘Artiste of the Year’.

The 2010 and the 11th edition of the awards has just been launched at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.

Sarkodie tops the table with 8 nominations with his ‘Baby’ track featuring Muggies of R2Bees. He is followed by Wutah with 7 nominations with their song ‘Kotosa’.

The sensational hip rap duos Bradez and 4X4 both have 5 nominations each with their tracks ‘Simple’ and ‘World Trade Centre’ respectively. Ohemaa Mercy who is the only female and gospel artiste in serious contention this year followed closely in that order with 4 nominations with her track ‘Obeye Kese’.
