Former Miss Ghana, Inna Mariam Patty has taken over the management and organisation of the Miss Ghana Beauty Pageant. Inna, who won the prestigious crown in 2004, has taken over the brand from Media Whizz Kids, who has organised the event for over a decade.
Exclusive Events Ghana, an event management and production company owned by the former beauty queen is the second company to be given the chance to host the national pageant after Shirley Frimpong Manso’s Sparrow Productions Limited in 2004.
Mr. Reginald Laryea, the chairman of Media Whizz Kids in handing over on today-Monday at Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra to Exclusive Events Ghana said, “Inna [Exclusive Events] is going to organiser this [Miss Ghana] for as long as she wants to – forever from our point of view.
This is a full hand over as supposed to the previous one which was a lease.”
This means that, contrary to the speculation Media Whizz Kids will not play any role in the organisation and management of the Miss Ghana pageants. He acknowledged the speculated reasons why, this year’s event didn’t happen. He therefore attributed that mainly to technical problems.
In an interview after the media briefing, Inna Mariam Patty told GhanaCelebrities.Com that her company has taken over franchise to rebrand it. She was silent on the new things they are bringing on board to add to the brand. She however believes that, the new team will transform the franchise.
On why her company has taken over the brand. She said “First of all, the opportunity was right and I ceased it, that’s what life all is about. Secondly, I have always had a passion for the fashion and beauty industry.”
Miss Ghana 2010, Stephanie Karikari who is expected to represent the country at the Miss World Pageant will still hold the position till next year when another queen is crowned.
The new Miss Ghana will be launched in February 2012.
