First Ever Ghana Music & Food Festival: The Final Showdown!


Konsule Entertainment, organizers of the maiden edition of the Ghana Music and Food Festival, are raring to showcase what they have in mind come this Friday. The event seeks to project Ghanaian culture to another level by celebrating Ghanaian Music and Food on the same platform.

The Director of the Festival said, “We will be delighted to have added another event on the calendar to promote our country Ghana and its beautiful culture. Like we said, we want everyone who comes to this event, leaves with memories to last them forever.”



The three day event which comes off at the International Trade Fair Center boasts of staging three different Ghanaian music genres at the same venue on the same day, at the same time. Organizers have Christian the stages ‘Ofie’ (twi for home, to mean typical Highlife Music), Neighborhood (for Hiplife Music) and Jerusalem (for local Gospel Music).

Different food types to be sold by food vendors from across the country will also be lined with particular music genres. For example ‘Auntie Muni Waakye’ will be stationed at Neighbourhood to cater for those crowds while ‘Heavy Do’ Chop Bar will also cater for ‘Ofie’ music area and ‘Kenkey Boutique’ will be at Jerusalem.

To give the Festival diversity, the very best of artiste for the respective music genres have been lined up to entertain the festival attendees. Of course festival attendees are given the choice of going to the music stage of their choosing since all the stages will play at the same time.

On Friday, 28th October, his Excellency the Vice President, John Dramani Mahama will open the event amidst members of the diplomatic corps, embassy attaches as well as other dignitaries. This will be followed by the Cultural Night which will be a cultural display by Wulomei, the Ghana Dance Ensemble and several other traditional cultural groups.

On the same night, the Happy Hour kick starts with seasoned highlife artiste lights the stage with their performances. Performers include Paapa Yankson, Doctor Paa Bobo, Rex Omar, AB Crentsil among a gamut of other

On Saturday, 29th October, all the three stages (Ofie, Neigborhood and Jerusalem) come alive with all the performers entertaining their respective fans and followers. Reggie’s Office will be the official club for the event for those who want to go clubbing. There would also be a VVIP session where stars and celebrities will entertain and interact with their fans, take pictures and sign autographs.

Sunday 29th, October will be the final day of the final. Dubbed ‘The Family Day Out’, families are encouraged to bring their kids to have fun. The specially created ‘Children’s Village’ will cater for the need of every child who comes with their parent. Highlights of the day also include an ‘Omo Tuo’ Session where celebrities and stars will serve festival attendees.
