Shirley Frimpong Manso’s ‘6 Hours To Christmas’ Premiered + Photos Feat Nadia Buari, Naa Ashokor, Chris Attoh, Fred Amugi & Others...

What else do I have to say about Shirley Frimpong Manso’s new addition to the Sparrow Production’s family ‘6 Hours To Christmas’ known as dark comedy. I thought I said what I needed to say after watching the movie for the first time. Well, watching the movie for the second time did some magic.

For now, Shirley Frimpong Manso will be thanking Revele Films for introducing movie premieres to the country. Sparrow Productions in a space of 4 years have produced 6 movies meaning she is really cashing in.

Shirley Frimpong Manso is the only female writer/director/producer who is giving her male counterparts in the movie making industry in Ghana a run for their money. For now, we can wait for Leila Djansi of ‘I Sing Of A Well’ fame to see what she has in store for Ghanaian movie devotees.

Sometimes I wonder if Shirley Frimpong Manso has some secret to all these achievements. Is she using the power of a woman to her advantage? Though she might not have a magic wand, people are always willing to see any movie of hers, no matter the venue.

Silverbird Cinemas is now a preferred venue for new movies to be premiered, National Theatre is an unfamiliar venue for movies premiere, and moreover some producers have seen their premieres flop at the latter venue. However, this is entirely different for Shirley, as she always gets the numbers each time she premieres her movies at the National Theatre.

Personally, watching the movie for the second time made me enjoy it more. The responses from the audience were impressive and encouraging. Simply put, they enjoyed the movie. For someone like me who has seen the movie before that night, I couldn’t help but smile and laugh intermittently as some people tried as hard as they can to predict scenes after scene but guess what … they got it wrong.

After the first showing, Shirley thanked the cast and the crew for a job well done. A surprise raffle continued via which some of the audience won some prizes.

‘6 Hours To Christmas’ is the 6th movie from Shirley Frimpong  Manso’s Sparrow Production after ‘Life and Living It’, ‘Scorned’, ‘Perfect Picture’, ‘A Sting in a Tale’, and ‘Checkmate’.
