Hugh Masakela to headline African Legends Night in Accra, September 22



South Africa Legend Hugh Masakela will once again be the headliner for this year’s edition of the Kasapreko Africa Legends Night. The return of the self acclaimed ‘sit down’ comedian will definitely treat Ghanaian music lovers to a different tune of authentic music as he promises a memorable night with his much loved classics as well as some new releases from his current collections.
Uncle Hugh, as he is affectionately called captured the hearts of Ghanaians with his astounding performance last year and promises ‘another unforgettable experience’ this September 22nd at the State Banquet Hall. Last year’s edition of the Kasapreko African Legends Night saw an overwhelming patronage and innumerable pleas for an encore show.
General Manager for Business Development and Marketing at Kasapreko Company Limited, Gil O Real explained the intention behind Kasapreko’s bringing back of the Africa legend. ‘Bringing back Hugh Masakela as our headline star is in response to the clamour for an encore following last year’s overwhelmingly successful concert. This African giant will entertain the Ghanaian public in a unique and increasingly rare live performance. Last year was a ground breaking phenomenon. We decided to bring him back so patrons and entertainment enthusiasts can relive  last year’s splendid experience again”.
He further touched on what people should expect at this year’s event. ‘This concert promises to be a memorable one with Hugh and it will come with  an excellent line-up of supporting acts put together by our partner Global Media Alliance  and the combination is guaranteed to relax, soothe and stimulate patrons’, he said.
To be hosted by Ghana’s finest satirist KSM, this year’s event will also feature saxophonist Steve Bedi, Lady May from Namibia, Ben Brako and Bertha.

Dr Cryme’s new single debuts at 7 on the Global Afrobeats Chart



After dropping his “Finally Finally” album last year and consequently embarking on village tours in Ghana, the “Kill Me Shy” hit maker has jumped on the Ghana and Afrobeat Chart again. His “1Step 2Back” hit single which was officially launched in Scotland in about two weeks ago is currently on number 7 on the Global Afrobeats Chart with P-Square and Camp Mulla Still battling the Number 1 position. It wasn’t a surprise to the populace when it entered the Showbiz and Citi Charts just a week after its release in Ghana.

Dr Cryme is very impressed with the media support and indicated that his next release party will be in Takoradi on September 21 at Paragon night Club and Tarkwa on September 22. He mentioned that he will love to do an equitable promotion and enable the song sink into the Ghanaian showbiz system simultaneously. The song which is a very impressive Afrobeat, combines very good rap lines and is very easy to dance to.

Dr Cryme has a lot of awards to his credit including winning UK’s prestigious Golden Heart Award with D’Banj in 2011.The E-Jam Records CEO, Korsah-Brown indicated that there will be consistency in the release of singles as requested by fans. Next to be released will be a song that almost leaked in the UK, Dr Cryme featuring Sway entitled “You and I. Two Videos will also be dropped in September namely, “More Fan” and “1Step2Back”.

Michael Clarke Duncan's fiancee says the Oscar nominee for "The Green Mile" has died while being hospitalized following a July heart attack.

Publicist Joy Fehily released a statement from Clarke's fiancée, the Rev. Omarosa Manigault, saying the 54-year-old actor died Monday morning in a Los Angeles hospital after nearly two months of treatment following the July 13 heart attack.

The 6-foot-5, 300 pound Duncan appeared in dozens of films, including such box office hits as "Armageddon," ''Planet of the Apes" and "Kung Fu Panda."

Duncan had a handful of minor roles before "The Green Mile" brought him an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actor. The 1999 film, based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, starred Tom Hanks as a corrections officer at a penitentiary in the 1930s. Duncan played John Coffey, a convicted murderer.

Big In Ghana Talent Hunt and Tour ends with a bang

The Big In Ghana Talent Hunt and Tour came to an exciting end on Saturday the 1st of September at a packed Holy Gardens in Accra.  FOKN Bois, Efya and Yaa Pono, along with the new found talents, all gave away mind-blowing performances that left both audience and artists wanting more.

The tour is sponsored by Bavaria, supported by Alomo Bitters and hosted by PY of The One Show.

The eclectic crowd went absolutely wild when Afro Harmony, a live band of young musicians, warmed up their instruments by playing hits from both the Highlife and Hiphop genre making both young and old sing and dance.  The beautiful display of lights, LED images and crisp powerful sound coming from the Big In Ghana stage attracted many people from all over the neighbourhood.

The concert opened with the talent competition winners. The well composed Ohene Amoako (Tema) set it off  with his song “So Mu Gyi”, followed by powerful duo NT4 (Kumasi), the free spirited Anas (Takoradi) and the crowd favorite Bryt (Accra) who together with his little brother managed to send the crowd into deafening applause.

After the talent competition Yaa Pono took to the stage like the boss he is performing hits like “Oh Joe”, “I Dey Feel You Die” which featured Faint Medal and “Shopping Mall” to which each and every member of the crowd sang and rapped along.

The sultry songstress Efya left the crowd in awe of her magestic grace and powerful voice singing her hit songs “Sexy Wahala”, “Little Things” and “Best In Me” to mention a few. She pleasantly surprised the fans by ending her set by re-inviting Yaa Pono on stage to perform their collaborative song “Good Morning”.

The FOKN Bois (M3NSA and Wanlov the Kubolor) sealed the night with an eclectic collection of their music both individually and as a group. Their performance was as wonderfully engaging as their often controversial lyrics. They got the crowd singing, dancing and laughing as they performed songs like “Sometimes”, “Thank God We’re Not A Nigerians” and “Ko Ti Eduro” where energetic Wanlov shocked the crowd by tugging away at his skirt to reveal bright pink panties. The crowd lost their minds.

In addition to enjoying free live in-depth performances by their favorite musicians, the crowd got the chance to win ‘Big In Ghana’ merchandises as well as souvenirs and drinks from the sponsors. The ‘Big in Ghana Talent Hunt & Tour’ is an initiative of Africa Unsigned and FOKN Bois, sponsored by Bavaria, supported by Alomo Bitters.
It witnessed auditions across Takoradi, Tema, Kumasi and Accra in search of new talent to give them a platform to launch their career in music. Four winners were chosen from the various cities to tour alongside the FOKN Bois, Efya and Yaa Pono.

From September 3rd to September 9th, the public gets to vote via SMS for an ultimate winner who will get over GH¢ 20,000 worth of prizes, including a cash prize of GH¢ 3,000, a recording deal, professional video, management and promotion. Former Black Stars goalie Richard ‘Olele’ Kingston’s wife confess for making him impotent and killing his career



Wife of Ghanaian international Richard Kingson has confessed bewitching her husband since they got married.

Speaking at the Synagogue Church in Nigeria, the woman revealed how she had used her evil powers to trouble the goalkeeper’s career and made him impotent as well.

The pastor of the church, TB Joshua prayed for her and asked her to tell all that she was still hiding.

Africa’s foremost urban music channel, Channel O announced the nominees for its prestigious 9th Annual Music Video Awards at The VIP Room, Michelangelo Towers in Sandton tonight (Friday, 31 August 2012).
Spread across 14 categories, this year’s Channel O Music Video Awards are a showcase of Original.African music – befitting to the music channel that has steadfastly flown the flag for Africa’s musicians and music for well over a decade.
Four of Ghana’s biggest music stars have been nominated for the prestigious award show. Now four time Channel O Music Video Award nominee D-Black hits the 2012 Channel O Awards with one nomination in the Most Gifted West Category for his video ‘Falling’ featuring Nigeria’s Mo Cheddah. Sarkodie landed in the same category as well as in the Most Gifted Video of the Year category with his ‘Saa Okodie  No’ Video featuring Obrafour and E.L in the Most Gifted New Comer category with ‘Turn The lights Down Low’. Rapper Manifest also landed a nomination in Most Gifted HipHop Video for ‘Makaa Maka’.
Both D-Black and Sarkodie are also up for the Nigerian Hiphop Awards ‘The Headies’ and are in the same category for Best African Artist.
