GhanaCelebrities.com was last week invited by Bandex Production to the premiere of another movie ‘Millions’ at the Silver Bird Cinemas. Our camera lens got exciting pictures of both celebrities and movie lovers.
Below are pictures we captured of actress Juliet Ibrahim and her mum just before the second screening of the movie. The actress mum advised GhanaCelebrities.com to bring out positive things to Ghana.
She engaged GhanaCelebrities.com in a lengthy but concise conversation. She made her views known concerning the hullabaloo about her daughter showing her goodies in the 4Play movie. She advised the media to be circumspect in their reportage.
Her words seem to suggest that, the outside world sees Ghana as a heaven on earth, so writing about the positive sides of Ghanaian celebrities will help the world to appreciate Ghana more than they are doing now. She said Ghana is doing pretty well now.
Her daughter seems lately to have fallen victim to harsh comments coming from readers of the site. She advocated we check this needless comments which sorts to create unnecessary tension in the lives of these celebrities.
Juliet herself confessed to GhanaCelebrities.com that some of the comments do get to them and at one time some comments were directed to her young siblings.
We hope you do enjoy the pictures.

“Appietus Is A Good Sound Engineer But A Bad Manager” – Rana
Catch them young and they shall be yours forever is a popular saying. In musical terms you can say catch them young, nurture them, give them better deals and they will start laying the golden eggs which will send you smiling to the bank.
Only few artistes have been able to release two albums with the producer who discovered them. The normality is to release the first or maiden album and the artiste jumps to the next available producer for the fear of being exploited or cheated by the producer who discovered them.
The idea that ‘when am successful in this’ means ‘I will be successful in that’ is bogus to me. The fact that one is a good engineer does not mean he can be a good doctor. However, producers exploit artistes all the time, because they feel they are doing them favours by producing their songs. Rana is the latest musical group to have suffered in the hands of a producer.
Rana is a musical trio made up of three guys namely Kobi Rana, Kojo Rana and Kofi Rana. They spoke to GhanaCelebrities.com about their supposed beef with Appietus, one of the best sound engineers in the country now.
Rana were spotted by Appietus (the man in the mix) during the first edition of the Nescafe African Revelation, where they placed third to Praye and Wutah with the name Adinkra. Their name was changed shortly after to Rana, a hausa term which means ‘The Sun’.
They are arguably one of the best groups around whose songs and stage performances are a delight to watch. They met at St. Augustine’s College where they had their High School education. They signed a contract at Creative Records, after which they went back to school to further their education.
They Kojo, Kofi and Kobi studied Computer Science, Agricultural Engineering and Arts at Catholic University of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and University of Ghana respectively.
After successfully completing school, their single ‘Baby baby, I love you, I love you, I need you, need you, I want you’ was released, which latter became one of the popular songs in that year. It is a simple beautiful song which is loved by most people.
What motivates them? “We are motivated by success, nature, love and everyday activities” said the trio.
Why They Left Appietus’ Creative Records
Like any other human, they all have dreams; and these dreams are time bound.
Since time and tide waits for no man, they felt they were wasting away and had to make a move. Expectations and pressures from their various homes were mounting. They had to take their own destiny into their hands and make a move.
“We realized that Appietus was not in the good position to take our carrier the direction we wanted it to go plus
resources to undertake and push the project was on the low side. Our album “No Limit” which took a lot of years and sacrifice to produce was never released, this was also a factor that triggered our decision to leave Appietus’ label. This move we made on very genial terms with Appietus who understood our plight and concern”.
Thinking Appietus will get them better deals, Kojo and Kofi resigned from their formal jobs to do music full time. This also became a big concern to them because they had no choice than to make a living out of their muisc.
“Though Appietus is a good sound engineer, he is not necessarily a good manager. The two are different in many ways. We were around for 5 years and he could have made a fortune out of us. We were always available and even gave him a lot of ideas for promotion which all went down the drain”.
Rana were with Appietus for 5 years. According to them, Appietus started breaching the rules in their contract, so as far as they are concerned, that contract is null and void. They explain further.
“We were shell shocked when we heard that Appietus had called us a ‘bad investment’ on a radio interview. A lot of people had asked us prior to the interview Appietus had on Hitz FM why we left his label but we were tight lipped because we felt what happened between us two was purely our business and the most important thing was that we had moved on and done that on amicable terms”.
Though disappointed, Rana showed appreciation to Appietus “We have nothing but appreciation for Appietus but we are heavily disappointed in him for those derogatory remarks. So many things happened whilst we were on his label, terrible things he did to us but we deem it not necessary to wash our dirty linen in public”.
“We are smarter than that. We will rather talk about our new project which is already making waves in the entertainment circles. A good manager can even invest in garbage and still make it count. Kudos to the Zoomlion owner, he invested in an area where no one dared and has become very successful, that’s who we call a good business man or manager. Appietus in the first place saw the potential in us before deciding to work with us, that’s the most important thing”.
“We are talented and we are going for gold, no derogatory comment or obstacle can stand in our way. The Lord is our strength and nothing can stop us.
“We are not fighting him. We will never do that even if he fights us. Because we know that he had good intentions but somewhere along the line he derailed. We left the label on very genial terms. We appreciate him because, he gave us the spotlight and God bless him for that”.
New Album X-Factor
The trio have put the first album and the Appietus cold words towards them behind and are ready to release their album, which they call X-Factor.
The trio is on a new record label, Storm House Entertainment. A label set to take the entertainment industry to a new level. Kofi, Kojo and Kobi said “We are grateful to Appietus for giving us the spotlight but we have to move on, we need to focus on our album”.
They explain the choice of title “X-Factor, because we believe every song on this album is a masterpiece and it has got everything it needs to standout in every competition. You need the X-Factor to excel and this album has got it. We believe it will be one of the best albums to be released this year.
“Rana as a group too has the X-Factor.means the league of the K’s. Reason being that we all have names beginning with a K; Kojo, Kofi and Kobi and we are a league of extra-ordinary gentlemen”.
X-Factor album has songs like ‘Fly With Me’, ‘Murder The Dance Floor’, ‘So Hot Ft Stonebwoy’ which are already burning the airwaves and the responses are good.
Rana wrapped up the interview with GhanaCelebrities.Com saying “We thanked God, our families, (Appietus, Allen and all the Moni3 Entertainment Crew, Ephriam, Usher Beatz) for working on our songs, friends, fans, foes, all DJS, radio presenters and the media at large for their support and criticisms. We are indeed grateful. We won’t disappoint you”.

Can It Be Jealousy: Why Is Okyeame Quophi Still Bitter Over The Split With Okyeame Kwame?
When Obrafour released his ‘Asem Beba Dabi’ album which has the controversial track ‘Kaseibo’, a direct dissing track to the rap doctor Okyeame Kwame, I managed to do a survey and realized that, the track received more attention and air play from Okyeame Quophi, Kwame’s former partner in the rap duo Akyeame.
I said to myself, why should Quophi, a presenter on Hitz FM who was formerly with Kwame in a group which churned out hits after hits be constantly playing a track perceived as an insult to his partner? Well the cat has been let out of the bag now.
After seven years of one of the most famous splits in Ghana music industry, Okyeame Quophi, who happened to be in the group Akyeame with Okyeame Kwame has voiced out his bitterness over their split.
Last Wednesday night on Yaw Sakyi’s “Rundown” on TV Africa, tensions were raised as Okyeame Kwame sat right in the studios of TV Africa to listen to a sound bite from Quophi which described him as a lair.
In an interview, Okyeame Kwame disclosed he was completely surprised at what his former group mate said about him since the issue of their break up had been settled five years ago. They have at one point even contemplated on working out a new album together…
“We broke up based on ideological differences between us which meant that we were diverse in ideas and better-off as individuals and not a group”. The Ghana Music Awards 2009 ‘Artiste of the Year’ explained.
However, Quophi had a different reason for their breakup citing Kwame to have come to Accra under the pretense of recording his brothers. Not knowing he was recording his solo album. To Quophi some lies were told and will still hold it against some one he calls his brother for such a long time.
Okyeame Kwame on the other hand explains though it is true he did not inform Quophi of his solo project earlier, but he never lied to him. Not volunteering information and denying a fact when asked are two different things.
However, Kwame confided that he did later when he felt the time was right to tell him. In addition, Kwame clarifies that he has apologized severally to Quophi through his family, friends and even on radio through DJ Black’s show on Joy FM.
Whatever their reason for the split, every time I listen to an interview of both sides, one thing is evidently clear, Kwame always speaks well of Quophi as a brother while Quophi is always angry or bitter about Kwame.
So the Question GhanaCelebrities.Com wants to throw out is that, what is Quophi’s bitterness all about after all these years? Don’t you think as a human as we are, Quophi has every right to be bitter?..
On the other hand, if Kwame has truly gone through all these avenues to apologize to Quophi and they even contemplated recording an album together, then why is Quophi still bitter? Is it that Quophi can’t handle Kwame’s success in a field he so badly wants to be?
Is it a case of sour grapes or just trying to stir controversy? In your own minds, who seems to be right?

Lynx Entertainment Not Happy With GC’s Publication & Comments About Eazzy’s Wengeze Video! Issues A Press Statement
Lynx Entertainment released the video of Eazzy’s Wengeze last week and the video has created a whole new debate, notably on GhanaCelebrities.com. Some of the comments seek to suggest that the director of the video didn’t do well.
A lot of people believed the song is too noisy to have a simple video. This new development and the publication by GhanaCelebrities.Com obliged Lynx Entertainment to issue a press statement explaining the concept of the video.
The release said “Management will like to make it categorically clear that the “Wengeze” track is a song meant to make people laugh and relax. The background of the track and the feel it carries suggests the circumstances under which the song was recorded”.
An article captioned “Who The Heck Directed Eazzy’ Wengeze Video” on GhanaCelebrities.com suggested that the director of the video did not do any justice to the song and it looks like some “child sketch”.
According to Lynx Entertainment, “The video like the song is meant to make people more relaxed, feel less stressful and help people manage at least a hint of smile and hence the concept of the video. The scene in the video which depicts Eazzy in various costumes signifies the universal appeal of the song, which enables people from all walks of life to dance to the song”.
Meanwhile, the label patted the shoulders of readers whose comments were favourable.
“For a session of the public who seem to have fully understood the concept of the song, their appreciation is deeply welcomed. Management is therefore taking this step to expatiate on the concept of the video; its execution and other matters that have been raised by the media and individuals alike”.

Official Statement From Lynx Entertainment On Eazzy’s Wengeze Video: Concept And Execution
The management of Lynx Entertainment is officially releasing this statement to set the record straight in regards to a recently released video from the company amidst reactions that have followed a few days after the release of the video.
Management will like to make it categorically clear that the “Wengeze” track is a song meant to make people laugh and relax. The background of the track and the feel it carries suggests the circumstances under which the song was recorded.

The scene in the video which depicts Eazzy in various costumes signifies the universal appeal of the song, which enables people from all walks of life to dance to the song.
We will also want to clarify that the song is not about ‘flex” or display of wealth, neither is it about the unnecessary shaking of “booty” which would have been totally irrelevant to the concept of the song as suggested by one article which seems to disagree with the director of the video.
Management will like to point out that the quality of a video has nothing to do with the number of people present in the video nor the flashy things displayed but is largely due to the ability of the video to carry the concept of the song clearly across to the people, which the “Wengeze” video seems to have done with perfection.

Luckie Lawson Visits Marriage Supremacy In ‘Silence Is Golden’
It is very amazing what people can do to protect their relationships and marriages. Figures indicate women as the ones who go out of their way to make their relationship work. Men are a bit careless since they can easily jump to the next girl.
Only few people will abandon their dreams to help that of their spouses in the name of love to the detriment of their relationships or marriages.
The statement ‘the man is the head of the family (home)’ has been constantly misconstrued, especially an African society where the man is believed to be superior to the woman.
The fact that the man is the head of the family does not mean, the woman should just turn blind to whatever the man says. At least education has taught us that marriage must not be like the ‘master and labourer’ relationship.
Even though I still cannot comprehend why some men do not like successful women, I think it bores down to inferiority complex. Only few women survive when they go against what their husbands want them to do.
The above is the theme in the new movie called “Silence Is Golden (Forbidden)” by 7th Art Productions. It’s a story about couple Kayla (Luckie Lawson) and Xavier (Ramsey Nouah Jnr.), who both have dreams they are chasing. Kayla is just not good at working in her husband’s company, yet she’s force to work there amidst complains whenever she goes wrong.
Incompetent Kayla then decides to stop working with her husband to pursue her own dream, which is writing. She exits from the company.
5 years later, she had become a successful author, whiles a husband’s company is at the brink of bankruptcy. Xavier in desperation to win a multi million construction contract to save his company had to go into the legs of Aisha (Chika Ike)…
Silence is Golden stars Nigeria superstar Ramsy Nouah Jnr., Chika Ike, Martha Ankomah, Jimmy Bangura, Stacy Amoateng of TV3 Music Music fame and others.
The executive premiere of the movie is on the 31st of July, 2010 at Villa Gardens Restaurant in Asylum Down. The movie is directed by Jimmy B who doubles as an actor in the movie. It was produced by Luckie Lawson for 7th Art Production.

Who The Heck Directed Eazzy’s Wengeze Video?
What is Eazzy’s Wengeze music video all about? A question I asked myself after spending 3 minutes, 33 seconds behind my computer to watch the crap video. Geeez! Funny the director of the video’s name didn’t show up, like I would have smack the heck outta him or her.
As a danceable tune, I feel it needs a hardcore crazy dance to go with it. But what we see in the video is too dull for the song. How about having some girls shake their ‘booty’ to match up with the dance?
Eazzy is the first lady of Lynx Entertainment. She might not have an album yet to her credit but currently she is riding high and has managed to create a niche for herself. Eazzy was born Mildred Ashong.
She has two singles ‘Bo Wo Nsem Ma Me’ and ‘Wengeze’. ‘Bo Wo Nsem Mame’ brought her into the Ghana Music Industry. This is how directors and producers kill the careers of musicians… The video does not do any justice to the song… It looks like some “child sketch” music video..
Below is the video of her latest single ‘Wengeze’. Eazzy can be contacted via Here.
