She might have attracted the fury of some media professionals in recent times and in the face of negative publicity, Mimi – real name Wilhelmina Abu-Andani remains resilient and unperturbed and continues to do what she likes to do best.
Also known as Mimi Divalish in showbiz circles, Mimi is proving to Ghanaians as well as the world in general that she is one of the hardworking musical talents in the Ghanaian entertainment circles. After launching her Charity Fashion Show dubbed ‘Divalish Fashions’ earlier this year, the former Ghana rep to the Big Brother Africa 2 is already planning to put up another splendid event to embark on her a promotional tour to promote her upcoming album “Yes”.
The upcoming event, organized by Mimi’s record label Movingui Records is dubbed ‘Mimi Live At Reggie Rockstone’s Office’. According to the singer, this event is to give her fans what to expect as she embarks on a tour to some selected cities in the country.
The upcoming tour is schedule to commence next month and it will take the songstress to some selected big cities in the country such as Tamale, Sunyani, Takoradi, Kumasi and climax it in grand in Accra.
However, the show on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Reggie Rockstone’s Office is a pre-tour concert which is put together for patrons and her fans to have a feel of what her touring is going to look like. She will be testing and activating the microphone for her tour which is in its planning stages. It is also a promotional tour of her upcoming album ‘Yes’.
As usual, the show will feature Ghana’s finest artistes; Ghana’s fastest rapper Sarkodie, Ghana Music Awards Best Rapper 2011 Trigmatic, smash hit D-Cryme, new sensation Chase, Ephraim among others. The night will also afford her the opportunity to introduce a new entrant Ali Musique.
The show starts at 6:00pm prompt and attracts a cool GHC 10.00 [For the band]. Mimi is on Movingui Records and managed by Paradise Entertainment. She released her first album ‘Music In Me’ in October 2009 shortly after the Big Brother Africa experience. The album has hit songs such as ‘Leave Me Alone’, ‘DJ’ and ‘Tattoo’. She does the following genres of music – R&B, Dancehall, Highlife, Hiplife, Techno, Rock, Afro Pop, etc.
