Hip Life Duo Akesifour Fight Over A Girl At Vienna City Night Club!

Musicians are known to attract different kinds of ladies, so it is strange when two talented individual in a group rebel each other in a night club just to woo a lady.

Information reaching GhanaCelebrities.Com has it that hiplife/raglife duo Akesifour AKC4-Ras Biggie (Andy Nii Okai) and Big Joe (Ntim Mensah were spotted in a night club exchanging heated words with each other over a lady.

Our source said, though the two were not fighting like boxers, they were exchanging hot words as to which one should approach the lady, who was sitting alone by the counter and having a drink.

The duo was in the company of a friend, who apparently was also interested in approaching the lady, hence joining in the ‘fight’. According to our source who was also in the club with couple of friends, they couldn’t help than burst out laughing uncontrollable.

We are told after the battle of words; the three agreed that each of them should approach the lady and try their luck. Each of them went and expressed their instant love to the lady with ‘I’ll be there’ for you playing a major part in their lyrics.

The said lady just sat, enjoyed her drink and smiled at their gestures. Soon after they had displayed their love for her, another man with flowers walked to the club and went straight to where the lady was sitting. He handed the flowers to her and gave her a big hug.

It became obvious to them that, the lady was waiting for her man. The duo and the friend concurred that, they had lost, so they continued their drink and shook hands. But they didn’t escape being mocked at by othersin the club.

Interesting right…? The duo decided to record a song and feature the friend using their experience in the club as a concept for the video for the same song ‘I’ll be there’.

Enjoy the video below and click here to download a copy of the song.

Video: Ghana Black Stars & Sunderland FC Striker Asamoah Gyan Doing The Azonto Dance!

It has been reported that, Sunderland FC and Ghana’s Black Stars striker-Asamoah Gyan has mentioned he will be putting his musical career on hold. Hurray! This is a welcomenews because I feel homeboy needs to focus and get his act of playing right. His jack-of-all-trade mind-set is becoming so annoying.

The microphone is always there after he hangs out his boots. So if indeed homeboy will be shunning music to concentrate on his field activities, I say kudos. However, below is a short video of the striker doing what is known now in Ghana as the ‘azonto’ dance.

The ‘azonto’ dance goes with any song, even gospel. Here, the striker does the dance to Edu Wodzi featuring Stay Jay’s ‘Yenko Nkoa’.

After watching the video, you will understand why those Sunderland confused players always follow him to dance whenever he scores. Such a crazy dance indeed.

A-List Actors In Ghana Flopped At ‘The Spirited Actor’ – The Search For Africa’s Next Hollywood Star Auditions, Whiles New Super Talents Revealed!

Credible information reaching GhanaCelebrities.Com indicates that some A-list actors in Ghana have flopped at the ongoing auditions for the ‘The Spirited Actor’ – The Search For Africa’s Next Hollywood Star project at the National Theatre in Accra.

The names of the A-list actors will not be revealed now until the excerpts of the auditions start airing on Viasat1, the official TV station for the project.

According to our source at the audition, the flopped actors/actresses quickly had to approach the local representatives of the project to give them a second chance.

When refused, they then begged their auditions recordings not to be shown when the excerpts start showing on TV soon. Most of the flopped-so-called-established-actors are known faces in the movie industry. Some have featured in various series aired some years back, whiles some are also in series currently showing on TV.

Others too have a chuck of movies to their credit. Our source reiterated that, the flopped actors wished earth had broken loose and swallowed them instantly as they couldn’t find their way out of the venue.
Auditions were held in presence of every registered candidate, so it was a sight to behold as the new talents watched their ‘role models’ flop.

As the known faces flopped, new super talents were discovered. Only 30 out of the over thousand candidates managed to score a star on the judge’s cards. The 30 will be trimmed down to final 10.

The selected 10 will be made to go through some tasks and exercises, after which they will be on TV for 2 weeks, where the public can help in deciding the final 5.

‘The Spirited Actor’ – The Search For Africa’s Next Hollywood Star is a new reality show in Africa [Ghana and Nigeria] to recruit acting talents for the fame and glitz in Hollywood.

Hollywood actor Rockmond Dunbar is part of the audition judges. Auditions will be held in Nigeria to pick another 5 talents to join the 5 from Ghana to be flown to New York for the commencement of the reality show.

For now, you can go ahead and guess which of the actors/actresses flopped.

Obour Outlines His Seven-Point-Agenda For Ghanaian Musicians Under His Presidency As MUSIGA President!

Hip life artiste and current National Youth Organiser of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Obour known in real life as Bice Osei Kuffour has finally launched his campaign to seek the high office in MUSIGA.

Obour has since May 2011 showed his readiness in becoming the next president of MUSIGA to change the plight of musicians in the country and also to continue from where current president Diana Hopeson will be leaving off.

Being the youngest in the contest for the MUSIGA presidency, Obour joins veteran musicians like Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Nana Tuffour and Willie Roe with similar ambitions.

At his media launch/briefing, Obour outlined his seven point agenda. It is picked from his motto ‘AJUMAPA’ literally means good works, an acronym for: Administration, Jobs, Unity, Music business, Ageing, Policies and Achievements.

Explaining his chosen agenda, Obour told the media his seven point agenda conveys developmental plans and programmes that are tangible, realistic and deliverable if he is elected as MUSIGA President.

He said MUSIGA is not attractive and appealing to all manner of musicians because of lack of adequate systems and structures in the Union. Under his presidency, Obour promised to work vigorously to put better structures in place to take care of musicians, notably old musicians who become inactive in their old age.

In an exclusive interview with GhanaCelebrities.Com, the Ghana Music Awards 2004 Artiste of the Year winner said he will work hard to make musicians who are members of MUSIGA benefit and make non-members jealous. This, he said will force the non-member to quickly become members of the Union.

“I will work hard to make members who are musicians benefit so much that if you are not a member and a musician, you will feel left out so you would want to be a member”.

When asked if he’s had any calls from any of the competitors for him to redraw from the competition because he is the youngest in the race. Obour told GhanaCelebrities.Com that indeed he was approached by certain individuals to step aside, to which he refused because of lack of tangible reasons.

He said: “I’ve had several of those – in the early stages of my decision to compete for this position; I had numerous calls, not by the candidates themselves but by different individuals but they didn’t have tangible reasons.  Because anybody that approached me, I asked them that, do you think that I can do the work and they all boldly tell me, Obour, we know you are the best man for the work.”

Though most of the people still believe Obour is too young for the MUSIGA Presidency, he feels otherwise and will be contesting the MUSIGA President in the upcoming MUSIGA Congress slated for Tamale on August 16-18, 2011.

Present at the media launch to show support was high life musicians AB Crentsil, Rex Omar, Praye Honeho, A-Plus and Okyeame Kwame who doubled as the MC. Also a video wasshowed of some musicians, radio presenters endorsing Obour in a documentary. Some delegates from other regions were present to show solidarity.

Obour is seeking the MUSIGA presidency to rebrand MUSIGA and make musicians wealthy.

Vote Obour for President – AJUMAPA!

Video: Hi Skuul Entertainers Awards Cypher

Okay I just stumbled on this… I like Ghanaians cleverness at copying things. I just think this is good. My problem however with it is the fact that, it lacked variety. It would have been cool if an Ewe and Ga rapper was part of it.

Regardless, I think this is cool. I’m feeling it.

‘The Spirited Actor’ – The Search For Africa’s Next Hollywood Star is a new reality show hitting Africa with a bang. It’s very unprecedented. The aim is to recruit acting talents in Africa for the fame and glitz inHollywood . However, the organizers are focusing on the two West African countries; Ghana and Nigeria whose movie industries lead the other countries on the continent.

Many doubted the project when TV commercials started rolling but acting coach, Tracey Moore, and film producer & director, Samad Davis, both from the USA, who will work closely with the contestants came down for a press conference in Accra and in Lagos and that silenced the doubters.

The registration which started several months ago will be closing soon to enable the auditions to commence from 25 to 28 July, 2011 at the National Theatre. From July 25 to 27, 10 talents will be selected for the final auditions on the July 28.

The selected 10 will be made to go through tasks and exercises. After which they will be on TV for 2 weeks, where the public can help in deciding the final 5.

According to the organizers, this is to get the public involved but their percentage will only add up to the judges’ final say. Similar auditions will take place in Nigeria; this means that, the final 5 from Ghana will join the 5 finalists from Nigeria to be flown to New York, the movie capital in the world.

Monologues:

What makes this project huge is the fact that, for the first time in the history of audition in Ghana, Monologues for the audition have been made available on the internet for the contestants. Each contestant is expected to download one of the three monologues; ‘the boss’, ‘the director’, ‘and the winner is’, study it in preparation for the audition.

Video:

Also, acting coach Tracey Moore has to prepared a short video demonstrating the “DO’S” and “DON’T’s” when one is preparing to go into an audition and what a monologue is.

In New York, the 10 contestants will commence the reality show where the winner will be selected after 13 weeks. Also there will be eviction every week. Every evicted contestant will stay around till the entire show ends before they return to their respective countries.

The final 2 will be flown from New York to Hollywood where the ultimate winner will be declared. Also all the 10 contestants will receive continuous training from Tracey Moore – celebrity acting coach till the end of the show. All 10 contestants will be signed to Paradise Entertainment after the show.

This Program will be shown exclusively on Viasat 1

Prize For The Winner:

The winner for the next African Hollywood star gets the opportunity to co-star in an America movie with Morris Chestnut as well as “A” list actors and actresses from Hollywood. ‘I Refused To Become An American’ – Alex Biney, Evicted Ghana Rep To The Big Brother Amplified!

Some Ghanaians will pay whatever amount to become an American citizen. However, at the press conference organized by MultiChoice Ghana, Alex Biney the evicted Ghanaian representative to the on-going Big Brother Amplified reality TV show in South Africa said that he had several opportunities to switch his nationality from Ghanaian to America but refused whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Wearing a T-Shirt with the inscription ‘I Love My People’ with love designed in a heart form in Ghanaian colours, Alex said: “I’m a Ghanaian citizen. I have had numerous opportunities to become a US citizen and I refused them.” He said confidently to show his strong allegiance to mother Ghana.
Explaining his reasons, he said that “… basically, in our house, we have always valued where we came from. I love the Ghanaian culture, the masks, our carvings, our clothing, and the food. Just being in the States and not being Ghanaian was something we couldn’t consider. Like I said I have had opportunities to be an American and it just didn’t feel right. I have always known that I’m a Ghanaian. I have always known that made me special. Ghana for life”.
He denied having sexual intercourse in the house, though he acknowledged he came close to it. He said he had lots of opportunities to go for it but he didn’t because he was thinking about the repercussion for the ladies.
“There were a lot of opportunities, I could have taken it. However, with me I was thinking a lot more about the ladies. With men I have come to realize that we can go on these shows and have threesomes and foursomes and come out looking like a heroes. With the ladies, it’s not like that, they come out looking bad. Their image is tarnished. There are so many backlashes. I really didn’t want them to go through all of that.” He said.
He continued: “Because I come from a family with lots of women in there, they instill a lot of morals into me and my brothers. It may look like I was a player but at the day I was really looking out for the women. I set some standard over there that I hope men will follow on how to take care of their women”.
Alex, the son of a diplomat entered the Big Brother house virtually not known to many Ghanaians but he went in there and came out with a new nickname ‘the ladies man’. Miss P, Weza and Millicent competed for his love; something many people believed was a contributory factor to his eviction.
He apologized later to them for his actions after they took some backlashes. He said in the States, it’s different.
“In the States, it’s different. They will be glorified; they will get magazine office. Get a million dollars in Playboy for doing these things but in Africa it’s totally different. We still value women and we still consider them as part of the community.”
Talking about why and how he got into the Big Brother game. He said: “The reason was simple. At that time I had come from New York – trying to establish here in Ghana and working on my collection and also looking for other business opportunities in Ghana and the Big Brother opportunity is a tremendous opportunity. It positions you in a way that you have more options in life and avenues open to you that in a normal circumstance that you have to be connected or work for it.”
“So the reason for being in the game was simply for the exposure and I just feel I had the strong sense of confidence about myself that I can make it happen.”
Alex has worked for Russell Simmons, co-founder of Def-Jam Records and creator of Phat Farm. Don’t get it twisted Alex won’t go into music like his predecessors. He spent 70 days in the house and hopes Nigerian’s Karen and South African’s Luclay are in the forefront to win the double $200.000 cash prize.

GC Life 101: Why I Stopped Going To Church!

At Christmas and even before the festive season, lots of churches advertise their programs on radio and television inviting people to attend. As if the above is not enough, majority who can’t afford advertisement on the above networks also advertise via posters on every available space [walls] in Ghana despite the fact most of these walls have inscriptions on them indicating no posters allowed.

After my friend’s (Kwaku) ordeal with a pastor, it has changed my perception about going to church. Anytime I see people rushing to church on Sundays, it makes me laugh my heart out. I know it’s weird, but must church activities be advertised? Must church activities be forced down the throats of the would-be-congregations?

Now churches are springing up on daily basis in Ghana. Every available space i.e. cinemas and football playing fields are/has been turned to a church premise. I know very soon, just very soon, nightclubs will be evaded by these pastors. It’s just a matter of time.

Sadly, but the growing number of churches in Ghana can partly be blamed for the dying nature of cinema life in Ghana, as most of the cinema halls have been converted to church auditoriums.

Some few years back when one can count the number of churches in Ghana, there were lots of cinemas around and these places were highly patronized on daily basis if not on special occasions like holidays.

I don’t know about other countries but here in Ghana, there is always a new church at every 200 metres [maybe 100 metres]. Do you know that people are now using their compounds to start a church? Ouch!.

One graduate from pastoral college, directly, the person gathers his friends and begins a church at his compound to the detriment of the people living around.

Also, the church services have been taken to the schools in the country. The brave and suspicious pastors turn their attention to the cemetery to preach and disturb the dead. Church service at the cemetery is beyond my understanding.

Is it really their fault? It has come to the notice of everyone that perhaps the easiest way to make fast money in Ghana contrary to what people think is not being an armed robber but a pastor. Being an armed robber brings you to some dangers, but become a pastor and you will be smiling all the way to the bank. Since the population of women in Ghana is still very huge, you know you will definitely be successful.

It’s simple! I reckon all one has to do is to start a church and force this statement down the throats of your doubters ‘I have been called by God to do his works’. A mere ‘flash’ by God is misinterpreted as a call by Him to preach his gospel. Maybe, God dialed the wrong number and cut it off upon realizing it. Yet, the missed call is a calling to the desperate wannabe pastor. Why do I get the impression that you are laughing on this one? Funny, isn’t it?

Make no mistake, if you are an eloquent person who can talk in front of people, it means you can have a successful career in preaching. If you doubt it then perhaps you don’t listen or watch television in Ghana.

What does it take to be a pastor in Ghana? Surely, it doesn’t take any special attribute; anybody can be a pastor in this part of the world. What it takes in my opinion is to firstly claim to be ‘called by God’ as they say and not be a shy person.

Talking about the supposed men of God on the streets, I dare not forget about their extreme noise making on radio and television. Now it looks like shouting has now become the norm for these pastors. Last time, a friend asked if shouting by these pastors makes the congregation grab the message quickly. I can’t understand it myself, probably; they think we have hearing problems.

These days, pastors don’t preach about the gospel, they rather talk about money. All the messages are centred on or about prosperity rather than salvation. I’m not religious but I’m a God fearing person. I don’t think one needs to be forced to the church room, besides no one forces someone to eat when hungry.

The tag ‘pastor’ has now become a money making title. Kwaku, a class mate whom I have lost contact with for years after school resurfaces after many years of staying in the UK. He happens to be one of the many Ghanaians deported from the UK recently.

Kwaku failed to return to Ghana after the expiration of his visa. He went into hiding until his sudden arrest and deportation. His once bright future has suddenly been knocked to the ground. He has lost everything he owned.

Things were not moving on well for Kwaku, hence his aunty introduced him to a pastor. Sorry but as ‘dumb’ as he is, he thought the best person to solve his problems is a pastor.

These days people are so ignorant in Ghana that, even a common ‘headache’, ‘stomach ache’, ‘body pains’ are believed to be spiritual and that the best person to solve these problems is the pastor.

No wonder in Ghana no body dies in his or her own time, every death is attributed to something. Someone dies because this person or that person doesn’t like him and wants him dead.

After telling the pastor his problems and the purpose of his visit, which is to seek help [whatever help, he didn’t tell me]. The pastor prayed with him, after which the pastor said God has revealed to him who is behind his problems. Kwaku was surprised when the pastor mentioned his mother in-law as the cause of his problems.

“Which mother-in-law”? kwaku asked. “Your wife’s mother I mean”, the pastor answered back. A lot of things ran through Kwaku’s mind since he wasn’t married. He has no girlfriend yet, not to talk about a fiancé. So what gibberish is the man of God talking about?

According to him, he managed to gather some courage and told the pastor that he wasn’t married yet, not even has he met the woman of his dreams. The pastor then started vigorous praying again, after which he came out with another revelation. This time, he told Kwaku that, the problem is now from the car he drives to work.

Kwaku became more shocked and surprised. This is a man who has not driven a car before. So he was taken aback by this new development and turn of events. At this juncture, it dawned on him that, the pastor doesn’t know what he was talking about.

He wondered if it was a mistaken identity. But the self-styled pastor told him, he knew exactly what he was saying. He does this with annoying confidence.

It didn’t take long for Kwaku to tell him that, he has not driven any car before. He doesn’t own any car. At this moment, it has become obvious to the pastor that, all his guesses were wrong. It was glaring; he didn’t do his work home well like other pastors do.

Most pastors employ the services of people to have a background check of their victims. This time, it appears he didn’t employ the services of such a person to do any background check for him.

The man of God started praying again. The prayer was intensified. The impression he gave was that, he was in the spirit and speaking some gibberish – I guess he was speaking in tongues. Whatever he was saying didn’t make any sense to Kwaku’s ears but he had to sit and endure it.

After about 10 minutes of praying, he went into his consulting room and returned with a piece of paper which, he handed to Kwaku. Guess what was written on the paper. What was written on the paper spin my mind a bit. A car number ‘GC 1407 A’ was boldly written on the piece of paper.

After handing over the paper to him, he continued praying. In Kwaku’s bid to find out exactly what to do with the paper, he shoved him off and asked him not to interrupt his prayers and that he’s in the spirit.

You can imagine the look on Kwaku’s face. Earlier, Kwaku had told me, he has heard lots of stories about Ghanaian pastors back in the UK but he never dreamt of coming so close to any of them if not for his aunty.

Kwaku had the rudest shock of his life when the man of God told him that “… don’t sit in a vehicle with this registering number GC 1407 A”. I couldn’t stop laughing. This infuriated Kwaku to leave the pastor’s office.

As he made his way out of the office, Kwaku stopped and looked at the people in the queue to meet with the pastor. He smiled and left. Only God knows what was in his mind. As Kwaku told me this, I only managed to laugh intermittently.

But on a more serious note, what would have happened if indeed Kwaku was married? Would he have gone to beat the hell out of the mother-in-law? Would he have divorced his wife to avoid his mother-in-law?

What of if he was working – would he have stopped working or stop driving the company’s vehicle?

Now we have decided to stop going to church. Can we begrudge for that? God help us!

Have you had any encounter with a fake pastor before? Share it with us please!

Actress Khareema Aguiar To Build A Home For Senior Citizens In Ghana! + She Says “I’m Searching For A Boyfriend But” & Addresses Lesbian & Sex Scandals!

Actress Khareema Aguiar has revealed exclusively to GhanaCelebrities.Com that she has plans of building a home for the senior citizen [old aged] in Ghana soon.

Last year the actress celebrated her 25th birthday senior citizens being taken care of by HelpAge Ghana.

GhanaCelebrities.Com met the actress who shot into fame with a leading her role in the television series ‘All That Glitters’ and asked the obvious question: Is she going to celebrate another birthday with them this year?

“I have a foundation for the aged, so I normally do things like that for them but my long term plan for them is to build a day home for them.” She said stressing that “When I talked about aged people, I don’t mean well to do aged people; I mean the old aged whose kids have abandoned them and calling them all sorts of names. I think retirement should also be made fun for them.”

According to the actress, a land around Kasoa, near Central Region has been acquired for the building. However, she is consequently working around the clock to bring financiers on board to support the project after launching it.

“It’s not easy to build but I can say that a land has been acquired around Kasoa. With time, I’m just putting some things together and then we can come out with the way to raise money to support the project. We are still working towards approaching financiers.” said the actress.

Talking about other things, she denied ever dating hip life artiste Nana Boroo. “No, I’m not dating Nana Boroo.” She said asking “Why should people think like that? Is it by-force to be in a relationship or date?”

“I don’t know why they are saying that I’m dating Nana Boroo. In this industry [Entertainment Industry] once you are too close or nice to somebody, they think there is something going down. I don’t know why people keep thinking like that about me especially.” She added.

“No! I don’t think it should be by force for everyone to date. When the time is right, you will definitely date or be in a relationship.”

She also denied ever having marathon of sex with a guy after drugging him. She said she has been busy travelling from Egypt, Dubai and to Nigeria.

She believes maybe she has not found the right person to date yet and she is still looking for the opportunity to meet one soon but not desperate.

Asked if her close association with under-attacked actress Yvonne Nelson who has constantly being branded as a lesbian means she is also one hence her decision to stay away from guys now.

She said “I’m not a lesbian; I can never be a lesbian. I love my men too much. The fact that I’m not dating now doesn’t mean I’m a lesbian. I can’t be a lesbian.”

Khareema has been on the quiet after her trip. Little illness forced her out but now she is back on set shooting a new movie titled ‘Untold Stories’. She is playing a bisexual in the movie alongside John Dumelo, Prince David Osei and others.

Khareema grew up with her auntie to fulfil a promise made by her mother to her. Staying with her aunty made her love and appreciatesenior citizens. Her late aunty who died was over 80 years old. She explained the circumstances that made her stay with her aunty instead of her parents.

She said: “I’m like a gift to my auntie. When my mother married my father, most of the family members didn’t accept the marriage but this particular auntie of mine liked my mother. She accepted my mother.”

“That auntie didn’t have a child of her own. At the time, there wasn’t nothing like a scan to know what’s in your womb. But my mother made a promise to my auntie that, because of how nice she has been to her, when she gives birth to this child and it’s a girl that will be her way of saying thank you – and that was me.”

She continued: “I was actually born in Nigeria, because that’s where my parents were. My dad was working in Nigeria. But I was brought to Ghana to fulfil the promise that my mother made to my auntie.

“So my parents were living but I still stayed with my auntie and her husband, till with time, they both died. My mother died first when she was delivering her last born and later my dad.”

“That’s the story about me, I’m a gift” she said to wrap up the interview.

Khareema Aguiar is looking at launching the project of soliciting for funds to build the home for the senior citizens later this year or early next year.

Video + Photos: Former Big Brother Africa Housemate Mimi Bitten By Her Own 7 Dogs!

Laughter! They say is a good medication that people don’t readily pay for. But I have not had enough of it for some time now until yesterday. You want to know why? Wait! How would you react if you got a call from a friend that she has been attacked and bitten mercilessly by her own dogs? You think that was funny huh? I thought the same.

I had a good laugh yesterday morning when former Ghana rep to the Big Brother Africa turned musician Mimi Divalish called my phone saying herown dogs attacked and bit her.

Come on was that a joke? I said with a frown on my face. Honestly, I didn’t take her serious until I rushed to 37 Military Hospital Emergency ward and there sat Mimi in a wheelchair receiving treatment from the nurses.

Still laughing, I wondered how one’s own dogs will attack her and inflict bruises on her. Pardon me on this because I don’t own dogs. Truth be told, I just can’t afford them, period.

Hmmm these questions ran quickly through my mind as I watch Mimi receive the treatment from the nurses -- Were the dogs not fed well? Did she use the little time she had to feed the dogs to rather gallivant pointlessly and attack Okay FM presenter Abeiku Santana at Peace FM premises for the so called slanderous comment made on their airwaves about her?

Or the dogs didn’t recognise her since she was in weave when perhaps; they had seen her go bald for the launch of her clothing line?

Above were some of the questions that readily came to mind. I couldn’t find answers to any of the questions and I still can’t find answers to them.

However, the victim explained the incident to GhanaCelebrities.Com; she said “I feed the dogs well.” She didn’t however say, whether she feeds them with chicken like the impression her close comrade Confidence Haugen in the Big Brother Amplified house created last time.

She continued as she recollected how the short incident happened: “I had returned from town and I was on the phone talking and suddenly the dogs pounced on me. Initially, I thought they were happy to see me and playing until they started biting me. So I started shouting and my boyfriend came to my rescue.”

Who am I not to laugh when the doctors and nurses laughed their hearts out when they were told of the incident… To be honest, I was still laughing because I thought it was unbelievable.

After the treatment, I got to know that, the dogs were 7; made up of 3 German Shepherds and 4 Bulldogs.

Mimi had bruises on her left thigh and on both arms. She was injected and given some medications. She was however advised to study the dogs for two weeks. Cameras are not allowed in the emergency ward but GhanaCelebrities.Com managed to get these pictures and video below for you.

Enjoy! After the treatment, Mimi decided to ‘gift’ the nurses’ copies of her CDs

Jackie Appiah Speaks About Her Role In Roger Quartey's New Movie 'Death ...

Co-winner of 2010 Africa Movie Academy Awards [AMAAs] and 2011 Ghana Movie Awards [GMAs] Best Actress Jackie Appiah is breaking new grounds. Aside having several movies to show for her acting prowess, she seems to have ‘upped’ her game a little bit by playing a role in a movie that appear to be the only role she has not played before since she broke into stardom several years ago.

Adorable Jackie Appiah as most of her fans calls her is playing Zynell, a prisoner in the upcoming emotion movie ‘Death After Birth’, a tale of tragedy, pain and sorrow from the stables of Roger Q Production, the producers of the hit movie ‘Turn Me On’.

The movie ‘Death After Birth’ is an emotional story of a young girl, Zynell [played by Jackie Appiah] who was born out of the rape of her mother.

Zynell grew up to be a victim of rape too and suffered that occasionally from her own Dad. She rebelled against her dad by killing him. With the law not being respecter of persons, Zynell was sentenced to prison and the suffering begun.

‘Death After Birth’ is an emotional movie that features Jackie Appiah alongside some selected experienced old actors likes Ernest Abbeyquaye-former director of Gama Films, Doris Sackitey, William ‘Akpatse’ Addo, Amanobea Doodo, Vivian Achor amongst others. It is being directed by Pascal Amanfo.

‘Death After Birth’ movie is still being shot. However, GhanaCelebrities.Com was on set at Usher Fort Prison in Accra . Check out the video and behind the scene pictures below.

Nana Akua Addo! Miss Ghana-Germany 2005 & Budding Actress Donates To Teshie Orphanage Home In Accra!

Miss Ghana-Germany 2005, Miss Malaika Ghana 2003 second runner up and promising Ghanaian actress Nana Akua Addo over the weekend donated mixed items valued at several millions of old Ghana Cedis to the Teshie Orphanage home in Accra.

Teshie Orphanage home is a non-governmental organisation which was established in 1995 by Mrs. Janet Parker in consultation with well-meaning persons in and around Teshie Township.

Its aim is to house needy children, teenage mothers and neglected aged folks. The home also provides a homely atmosphere for these deprived children especially those in a very difficult situation who would otherwise end up on the streets.

The donation was made by the former beauty pageant in the company of his aunty. Items donated includes tubers of yam, gallons of oil, cartons of biscuits, bags of beans, gari and sugar, toilet rolls, bags of salts and cartons of soaps.

Did Nana Akua start donating to charities after her beauty pageant experience? With her history of being a beauty queen, Nana Akua was thoroughly briefed on the need to take charity work up and seriously on that matter. She revealed to GhanaCelebrities.Com that, donations has been part of her life ever since.

“I wouldn’t say it’s because of that but I can say it gave me the experience to look at the other side. When you are being groomed as a beauty queen, it’s not only about the clothes or how beautiful you look. You need to know to be able to talk to your subordination as well.

She continued: “About the donation, you need to reach out to the people; these are some of the things you are educated about. When you look at Africa, charity issue is one of our biggest problems, so if I think I could in any smaller way I can, I think all of us can do this on daily and on weekly basis.”

Nana Akua donates to charity every six months. She does not share the opinion that, one needs to be rich to donate to charities. She has donated to several less privileged homes in Osu, Weija, Kasoa, Nsawam and several other places.

Nana Akua Addo is an upcoming actress. After my little chit chat with her, she appears to me as someone who is fun loving and trying to cross the carpet from being a beauty queen to an actress. I like her smartness!

Her first movie as an actress was Van Vicker’s ‘Raj The Dancer’ [It’s out in America]. Luckily for her, the manufacturers of New Royal EM Bread Improver after watching the movie, signed her as an ambassador to promote their brand for 5 years.

She told GhanaCelebrities.Com, she donated to the Teshie Orphanage Home immediately after taking her first pay from her employers.

Very soon billboard of her will be mounted at vantage points in the country. She’s done couple of movies such as ‘Believe Me’, ‘Innocent Scenes’, ‘Breaking The Rules’, ‘Never Again’, ‘Hidden Passion’, ‘Crazy Scandal’, ‘Wrath Of A Woman’ among others.

She is about to shoot with Silver Line Films where she will be acting alongside Nadia Buari, Adjetey Anang [Pusher] among others. She is also billed to work with Nollywood director Anuka.

Nana Akua was part of the 4Stye TV Crew invited to cover the West Africa Idol in Nigeria. She was born in Germany and resides in Ghana with her aunty.

Socrate Safo Denies Pulling Out A Gun In Kumasi In A Quarrel With Mercy Asiedu Over The Title Of His New Movie ‘Greedy Bastards!

Movie Producer Socrate Safo has denied pulling out a gun in Kumasi in a misunderstanding with Twi-speaking actress Mercy Asiedu over the title of his upcoming movie ‘Greedy Bastards’.

The contentious director and producer in a phone conversation with GhanaCelebrities.Com today denied pulling out any gun as reported by NEWS-ONE. Narrating his side of the story, he said in the middle of the shoot of his movie in Kumasi, one of the casts asked to know the title of the movie.

Mind you, most of the movies produced featuring Twi or local actors are not shot with scripts as most of them cannot ‘speak’ and fathom the Queen’s language. Okay, let me put it this way, most of them are comfortable in the local language.

As will be expected, adlibbing becomes the other of the day when working with such group of actors. The most important thing is just brief them on the story line and then shooting begins after agreeing on their fees.

Though, the above does not apply to every Twi or local movie actor, it’s the other of the day. This explains why most of their movies are nothing to write home about with dragged scenes and inappropriate language used in the movies.

Movie makers can commence shooting a movie with a working title sometimes. These titles can be changed or maintained at the discretion of the producer. No actor has any right to argue with a movie producer or director over a title of a movie. This is gross indiscipline on the part of any actor/actress to fight a producer/director over the title of his own movie.

An actor/actress that walks off the set and threatens not to continue shooting can be dragged to court by the producer for redress if there was a contract.

Still on the phone, Socrate answered that, he wants to use ‘Greedy Bastards’ as his title based on the story line. According to him, Mercy Asiedu got angry and requested that, the title be changed since she didn’t want to be invited by the National Security or any radio station for interviews.

Naturally, Ghanaians like talking and complaining but if you know how to deal with them, then, there is no problem at all. It’s an undeniable fact that most movie enthusiasts purchase movies based on the title of the movie. Only a handful can confidently say otherwise.

‘Greedy Bastards’ is one of the terms used by the former president Jerry John Rawlings to describe ministers of his ordained man, President Atta Mills’ government. He has used several terms which movie producers have used as movie titles.

It was glaring at this instances that Socrate Safo, a smart chap with serious business acumen was playing smart to join in the bandwagon of producers who have used some of the terms by the former president to sell their movies. This, was the simple reason why, he wantedto use ‘ Greedy Bastards’ though the story line has nothing to do with politics.

It became very evident that, Mercy Asiedu’s stand was because Kyeiwaa who featured in the movie ‘Atta Mortuary Man’ was constantly called by radio stations for interviews after the movie was confiscated by the government citing political connotations in the movie, though the Censorship Board had Okayed the movie to be released on the market for consumption.

Another movie that was seized with the same reason was ‘Oh Uncle Atta’.

Mercy Asiedu was quoted in NEWS-ONE as saying “…If you really want to continue to work with me, then you must be ready to learn to respect, adjust and listen to other people’s opinion. I don’t want any national security people and radio chasing me for interviews over a movie.”

According to the story, Socrate refused to listen to the actress and asked her to “shut up and stop behaving like a movie producer rather than an actress” and that, he had paid her for her role in the ‘Greedy Bastards’ movie, so she had no option but to play her role, regardless of the movie’s title.

This scuffle continued until Mercy Asiedu left the set. Socrate was then said to have pulled out a gun and pointed it at a guy on set and start shouting. But Socrate was surprised when GhanaCelebrities.Com asked if indeed he pulled out a gun.

“No, I didn’t pull a gun. I can’t pull a gun.” Socrate denied.

Explaining further, he said it was a fake pistol used in the movie and he was demonstrating to them how to use the gun. He however said, he threw the gun at some of them who were still laughing after he had shouted ‘quiet on set’ to roll the camera.

“It was a fake pistol we are about to use in that scene. I was demonstrating to them how to use the gun. So when she [Mercy Asiedu] was leaving the set, she was speaking her normal ‘English’ and they started shouting and laughing.”

“So I came outside to tell them to stop laughing because we are rolling the camera but they continued, so I got angry and threw the gun at them. But it wasn’t a real gun.” He ended.

According to him, even after throwing the gun at them, they continued to laugh at Mercy’s hilarious ‘English’. He said even, throwing the gun wasn’t deliberate as he was angry and he just threw his hand and the pistol got off.

He said he is at the editing bench editing the movie and that he will still release the movie without the scenes Mercy refused to shoot.

‘Greedy Bastards’ tells a story of a rich man who is battling with cancer. He has only 6 months to live. This means, he has to find people to bequeath his properties to.

He decided to bestow the properties to these three people; his gateman, cook and driver. These three people are labelled as the ‘Greedy Bastards’. It became difficult for him to decide which of his three workers to inherit his properties.

The movie featured Kyeiwaa, Mercy Aseidu, Kwaku Manu, Apostle Prah, Azorzor among others. Socrate Safo said, he has not received any calls from any security agencies asking about the said gun.

‘I Can’t Sing To Save My Life’! Evicted Ghanaian Rep To The Big Brother Amplified Confidence Won’t Be Like Sammi B, Kwaku T, Mimi & Ras Wayoe!

By now many questions are running through the minds of Ghanaians as to the next line of action for evicted Ghanaian rep to the Big Brother Amplified and owner of the biggest night club in Ghana, Confidence Haugen.

Is Confidence also going to follow the route of previous Ghanaian housemates to the Big Brother Africa reality show? I reckon this is one of the questions on the minds of observers.

Sammi B, Kwaku T, Mimi and Ras Wayoe are previous Ghanaian representatives to the Big Brother Africa house. Also, they have something in common; which is music. Sammi B and Kwaku T who represented the country in the first and second editions of the show respectively were known to have a thing for music back then. But it wasn’t so serious until their Big Brother experience.

Recently at the Ghana Music Awards 2011, Sammi B’s ‘Tongue Tied’ won the ‘Record of the Year’ honour though he failed to win the ‘Reggae Song of the Year’ with the same song. Kwaku T on the flipside has won some awards with his rap partner D-Black.

The remaining two, Mimi and Ras Wayoe are currently also into music after their experience in the reality show. The former has taken music seriously and launched her maiden album ‘Music In Me’ with her second studio album due to be launched.

Even though many believe she can’t sing to save her life and doubted, Mimi thinks otherwise.

Ras Wayoe on the other hand composed a song for the African teams during the World Cup in South Africa. Even though nothing has been heard from him after that, it is believed that he is lacing his shoes for a musical career.

So is Confidence also going to do music? GhanaCelebrities.Com asked her at the press conference organised by MultiChoice Ghana to enable her interact with the media.

Answering the question which drew amusement from the people present, she said “I can’t sing to save my life”, with laughter she continued jokingly by saying that unless there are some serious programmers that can help her out. Her answer suggests that, she’s not going to follow the path of her predecessors.

GhanaCelebrities.Com’s second question drew intense laughter from Confidence herself as well as from other media professionals. In one of the BBA tasks where housemates had to take pictures for a calendar, Confidence went nude with her boobs begging for some attention. Zues, another housemate from Botswana grabbed it as if his life depended on it and they tookpictures together.

The picture was circulated on the internet and the name calling began. Her breast was tagged as ‘silicone’ since at age 37 with a child, her breast was exceptionally firm. Answering the question about her breast being silicone, she said “… I leave that to your imagination”.

Moving to other issues, when she was evicted from the show and asked who she think will win the show, she said she didn’t think any of the housemates from the ‘Heads’ house will.

She still maintained her stand but said “What you think when in the house is entirely different when you are out of the house.” She also shared some memories of her life in the house.

Confidence has several projects to be launched soon in Ghana. She touched down in Ghana yesterday. Her eviction party is on June, 25 at her club, Aphrodisiac Night Club.

Tsatsu Kudiabor, Operations Co-ordinator, DSTV Mobile Ghana presented to Confidence DSTV Mobile handset with one year subscription to Confidence as a way of promoting the brand in Ghana.

Exclusive: Aluta Of ‘Things We Do For Love’ Fame Bounces Back! Says There Is Time For Every Body + He Has 7 Children Now!

I don’t know about you but for me, I still remember vividly the nostalgic feeling when the popular television weekly serialized ‘Things WeDo For Love ’ started, when the production house went on recess and when they came back to continue from where they stopped. Several years after, I’m still proud today to say I was an avid viewer of the TV series.

If there was any program in Ghana at the time that people loved on [as if they had any better option] GBC/GTV, the station of the nation, surely it would be because of ‘Things WeDo For Love’.

The above assertion might not be entirely true, since it’s based on hunch. But it was one of the programs that made people stay glued to their television sets on Sundays before the major news to watch the entertaining, educative and informative series.

I still recollect clearly those years when most if not every student made sure their homework was done as early as possible to enable them watch the program without any hassle from their parents.

I also reckon it was one of the few programs on television at that time that made many children respect their parents and listened to whatever they said attentively in other for them to have the peace of mindto watch the program when it commences.

‘Things We Do For Love’ was a 30 minutes weekly series shown on Ghana Television. The direction of the series was under the tutelage of Ivan Quashigah and produced by Ad Vantage Productions. It starred the Majid Michels, the Jackie Appiahs, the Adjetey Anangs amongst others.

Several years later, the Ghana Movie Industry is benefitting immensely from these talents who once graced and made television excitingto watch in Ghana. Though majority of the cast are not active now, Shaker [Majid Michel], Enyonam [Jackie Appiah], Pusher [Adjetey Anang], Max [Vincent McCauley] are still rocking our screens.

Also from the same series but missing on the television scenes are Tsatsu, Killer [Abeiku Acquah], Dede [Alice Schreyer], Marcia [Sena Tsikata], BB [David Bossman], Zinabu [Adeline Adjokatcher], Ophebea [Yolanda] and others.
Aluta Just After Things We Do For Love

Aluta Just After Things We Do For Love

However, one of the casts who played Jackie Appiah’s brother and son of the contentious Mr. Blagogee, ‘Aluta’ has resurfaced from his hideout. Known in real life as Zimran Clottey, Aluta tried his luck on several projects, one of which was to become a musician. He also hosted a couple of shows in TV.

GhanaCelebrities.Com chanced on him at the graduation of the models from Exopa Modelling Agency for a short chit chat. He revealed many things as well as a shocking package … can you believe the ‘dude’ has 7 children already. Below are the excerpts.

GhanaCelebrities.Com: Aluta, not much has been heard of you after ‘Things We Do For Love’. Where have you been?

Aluta: I have been around. After ‘Things We Do For Love’, I have done lots of things. I hosted a program ‘Pop Box’ on Ghana Television for close to three years. During the programme, I had the chance to travel to a number of countries including Israel and Ethiopia. I interviewed people like the late Culture as well as other international big stars.

GhanaCelebrities.Com: What’s the difference between you and other ‘Things We Do For Love’ casts?

Aluta: I’m much open. Among all the cast of ‘Things We Do For Love’, I believe I’m most down to earth.

GhanaCelebrities.Com: What else have you done after?

Aluta: I have been around. I have done couple of stuffs. I have done some movies. I grew locks. It became very long. It was all over my back but I cut it in January. It was to start a new brand where people know me as an actor. Now as an actor, I’m sure people constantly feel that what else or what can you do beyond what you are already noted for.

So I felt that instead of keeping the bushy hair which was noted for acting. I had to wear a different hair style to give a different brand of myself. So I took that up. In acting sometimes some of these things give limitations because any producer, who wants to use me for something, wants to use me for a fetish priest and things that they feel identifies you with.

But for me, the lock is another way of life. It shouldn’t limit you to anything. There are old men rasta people. There are so many things you can find; any role with locks shouldn’t be a problem. But there was limitation on them.

I was in Kumas for 2 years and 1 year in Takoradi. All this period, I did only 3 movies; 2 in Kumasi and 1 in Takoradi. All these movies were done in a long period of time, not continues like you see on your scenes now. One of the movies I did in Kumasi ‘Akushika’ has been released. The rest would be released later. I did all with my locks.

I was teaching in Kumasi. Staying outside Accra, life was little different where people know you for a particular work or acting. I cut my locks early this year not because of acting per sebut I felt that, the reason why I was carrying the locks was on a righteous course.

Spiritually when you look at the Nazareth law, Numbers chapter 6, it talks about wearing the locks as a born again as a level of righteousness. If I’m falling short of that, it means that the favour that will go along with that with few other things, I will be falling shorts of all those things. I will be deprived of all those things.

I also felt that to give respect to the locks on like other people wear it and do all kinds of things; I had to let it go, so that I can feel free once again to do anything I want to do, away from hiding behind the locks which is supposed to be strictly spiritual and righteous.

GhanaCelebrities.Com: It’s okay to be jealous! Majid, Jackie, Max and Adjetey Anang who were part of the ‘Things We Do For Love’ cast are doing well now. How do you feel watching them on the screen? What really happened?

Aluta: Nothing went really wrong. Nothing changed. Let me say that there is time for everybody. If there wasn’t a time for King Bruce, a time for Kojo Antwi, there wouldn’t have been a time for Batman Samini and there wouldn’t have been a time for the people who are yet to come in the future.

The David Dontohs and the rest gave away certain things at some point to give way to some new people along the line. So in the same way, I believe there is a time for people like Majid, Pusher and the rest.

Three years ago, I sat with Max [Vincent McCauley] and I said the same thing to him. He was complaining of not getting roles. He was going to the auditions and they were not picking him.

I told him, my brother there is a time for everybody; your time will come soon. I was not making any effort to get into anything at that time and just about six months, he found himself in ‘Sisters Honour’ and other movies. I told him there is time for everybody.

If I tell you the things I’m doing in the pipeline right now, you will realise that really there is time for everybody. Like you see on the screens now, nobody saw the beginning of the things you are seeing on the screens today.

Perhaps, some of them were recorded three or more years back but today we see them on screen. Over a period, you see posters and its Jackie, Majid and it’s like they are the starsbut I believe there is time for everybody. Until nine months, what is conceived in the womb for myself to be born, I will say there is a lot in the pipeline for me.

GhanaCelebrities.Com: What’s in the pipeline for you?

Aluta: I’m still acting. There are two serious TV series and two movies coming up in the pipeline for me. Basically, this is what I can say for now.

GhanaCelebrities.Com: Can you throw more light on them?

Aluta: You see, when the baby is about to be born, it stays in there. If you insist, let me give you more details. The titles are ‘Number 10 Kotokoraba Close’, a GAMA/TV3 production. It’s a series that’s about to start.

The other one is ‘The Oil City’, another story on the oil, which I’m self producing with Livewire Production. There are two other movies, one on my table at the moment, I’m about to start working on it. There are few others too.

GhanaCelebrities.Com: Sounds like you are bouncing back big time!

Aluta: [Laughs] As to whether it is big time or not, for me I think it’s a super time. But you would have to describe it your way as you see it coming up but it takes nine months in the womb where you don’t see whether a man or a woman and it’s in there and when the time is due, God just let it out. So now surely I can say there is something in the pipeline for me because I have recorded them.

GhanaCelebrities.Com: What were some of the difficulties you faced as rasta man?

Aluta: I think that we are getting over the challenges of rasta or locks because our society is gradually beginning to accept it. People in offices or certain positions are beginning to wear locks without challenges.

But in the past we had this wayward attitude or impression about people who wear locks. We think that when they wear locks, they smoke Indian hemp. So wearing the locks… those are some of the challenges that one has to go through, family challenges and societal challenges.

GhanaCelebrities.Com: Thank you for your time

Aluta: You are welcome!

‘Somewhere In Africa’ A Coup D’état Movie Premieres At National Theatre On July 30!

As a patriotic Ghanaian, I detest people who make comments that seem to suggest that they do not like Ghanaian movies. Comments such as ‘I don’t watch Ghanaian movies’ and ‘I only watch foreign movies’ and the rest of such worthless comments irritate me.

Nonetheless I think that people who make such comments can’t be blamed for their stand. This is because sometimes it’s very painful to watch some of these Ghanaian movies with horrific pictures, inappropriate languages, bad sound and lots of continuity inaccuracies.

So it’s somehow prudent to concur with the people who have constantly drummed into our ears their strong aversion for movies produced in Ghana. Just imagine sitting through the entire duration of a Ghanaian movie and only to realize that, the story line is similar to several Ghanaian movies you have already watched.

Don’t get it twisted, it’s not a similar story; it’s actually the same story twisted with different casts.

Least I forget, their story lines are about love: If it’s not about someone dreaming about a lady and goes to gallivant searching for the said lady [imagine this], then it would be a man who claims to love a girl yet goes to the ladies house to insult and beat the parents.

But the latest movie ‘Somewhere In Africa’ departs away from the known love themed movies. It’s a story about coup d’état. Now I understand why most movie producers in Ghana always produce love movies; the budget. ‘Somewhere In Africa’ appears to be a well produced movie.

Coup D’état is simply the military intervention in politics and Africans are still fighting this disease. For Ghanaians, coup d’états are still fresh in the minds.

The movie tells a story of a change in government in Kimbala. The coup d’état was masterminded by Lieutenant Yusuf Mumbasa [Played by Majid Michel], a thirsty and fierce man.

He subjected the whole country to a serious pandemonium as he and his men [loyalist] pursued and killed government officials who he felt were milking the country dry.

In a town where blood thirsty militant subject the government to coup d’état, life is unpredictable. The influential are coiled in their shells in total stillness and the civilians hide behind hypocritical facet of patriotism.

No one dares Mumbasa, the widows cry, orphans wail and the town mourns in complete silence. There arises a group of fearless combatants: a group of unstoppable students who refuses to fall into a category of cowards.

Their audacity is reinforced by esteemed solidarity to seek justice for the family of their widow vice principal, whose husband [played by Rev. Eddie Coffie] fell victim to the callous act of Mumbasa. At this juncture, it can’t be told who is fiercer the students or Mumbasa.

‘Somewhere In Africa’ stars Majid Michel, Martha Ankomah, David Dontoh, Roselyn Ngissah among others. The grand premiere of the movie is on July 30, 2011 at the National Theatre, Ghana. There will be two showing; 6pm and 8pm.

The movie then shows in the following cities below:

Accra: Silverbird Cinema On 19th August, 2011 at 6pm and 8pm

Kumasi: Miklin Hotel On 5th August, 2011 at 6pm and 8pm

Takoradi: Polytechnic Hall On 20th August, 2011 at 6pm and 8pm

Tamale: P. Conner Hotel Hall On 26th, 27th & 28th, 2011 at 6pm and 8pm

Sunyani: Centre For National Culture On 13th August, 2011 at 6pm and 8pm

Koforidua: Ma-Dic Royal Plaza On 20th & 21st August, 2011 at 6pm and 8pm

Dreams are achievable if you put your mind at achieving them. The new shinning kid on the block, actress Nana Akua Addo is gradually warming herself into the make believe fraternity; Ghana Movie Industry to achieve her ultimate dream.

For Nana Akua, her dream of crossing the carpet from a beauty queen to a movie actress is on course and on the verge of being achieved. She told GhanaCelebrities.Com that, “… dreams are achievable if you work towards it”.

Nana, like many others yearns to be a movie star not only that, she also desires to make a great difference when she achieves that status. For someone who has already kick-started several projects to help the less privilege in Ghanaian society, she would be a great sight to behold when she finally achieves her ultimate desire.

Though most of her movies are yet to be released to the general public, she seems to be bombarded with scripts all the time. Currently on location shooting one of her numerous scripts is ‘Rain’ from the stables of Silver Line Productions under the able leadership of Hajia Meizongo.

Half Ghanaian/Half Nigerian TV3 Presenter & Actress Ebi Bright Declares: ‘Expensive Girls Like Myself Don’t Want No Broke Ass Guy’!

Women seem to be very strange among all the creatures in the world, probably even in the universe. Women have strict rules and regulations that they hardly alter when it comes to dating. They care so much about how their men look. This is very important to them because some believe when they give birth with unattractive men; their children will take after them.

However, if you find a woman dating an unattractive guy, it’s because the guy has money or can rock her for hours in bed. It’s very simple, if you are not good-looking, you must have the cash or the bullet.

Most women can live with a good-looking broke guy and still cater for his every need without any problem.

The TV3’s Late Night Show and actress Ebi Bright has categorically stated that contrary to the above, she merges looks and cash when it comes to men.

She said for her, a man must not only be handsome and good-looking to date a beautiful and expensive girl like herself but also he must know how to make a living for himself and put food on the table.

“What good a fine boy? She asked! She continued, if the guy doesn’t know how to cater for himself and the people around him, then no matter howhandsome he is, it’s no for her.

“If he doesn’t know how to make a living, women, beautiful women like myself are very expensive, so we don’t want to be with no broke ‘ass’ guy. If he’s fine, he has to know how to put food on the table as well same as me, I work hard for my money,” the actress said.

She also revealed that a fine guy must be intelligent, confident, and eloquent with a good personality. She made this interesting revelation when she MCed the launch of the new pageant ‘Male Icon Ghana’ at the Royal Richester Hotel in East Legon.

The ‘Male Icon Ghana’, ‘the search for the perfect gentleman’ is a new pageant for men. The sole aim of the pageant according to the organisers is to nurture and groom selected intelligent young men with the desire to excel in life as well as introducing them to their role models in the country.

Ten contestants were introduced to the gathering to commence the show. Executive Producer of the pageant, Nana Mensah said the search will focus on empowering young men and introducing them to the world of possibilities, encouraging them to reach for the ultimate in life.

The eventual winner will serve as a youth ambassador against drug abuse as well as promote healthy living and lifestyles in the Ghanaian community especially among young people.

The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Hon. Agyenim-Boateng witnessed the launch as he made few comments reiterating Ghana government’s support to anything that will boost the tourism industry in the country.

Emmanuel Yawson, the winner of the Stars of the Future season 5 and other contestants from the reality show graced the events. Sponsors and donors of the shows also were present.

Actress Ebi Bright has featured in the following movies ‘The Game’, ‘Pool Party’, ‘Ultimate Powers’, ‘Silent Writer’, ‘Single Six’, ‘Love 4 Rent’, ‘Reason To Kill’, ‘Ultimate Sacrifice’, ‘Bed Of Roses’, ‘Twisted’, ‘Somewhere In Africa’, ‘The Unknown’.

She is a half Ghanaian and half Nigerian. Her mother hails from Ada in the Greater Accra Region whiles her dad is from Bayelsa State, Nigeria, the home of the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAAs).

Metro TV’s Sports Presenter, Christopher Opoku Launches Maiden Gospel Album ‘Oye Mame’!

Who says anyone who does active sports, cannot get time to do other things, like doing music, preferably gospel to praise the Almighty God? Christopher Opoku can prove that person wrong.

History was made yesterday as Christopher Opoku, the celebrated sports journalist and Metro TV presenter became the first sports journalist to veer to music as he launched his ‘Oye Mame’, a nine track gospel album.

Sports and music are two different things, no gel whatsoever and Christopher concurs. “There isn’t much of a gel but just that both are part of me, in fact, music is something I started even before I got to sports, so its been a hidden love but its been the first love” he told GhanaCelebritis.Com after the launch.

Christopher Opoku has a giant-look-alike structure with a commanding, sometimes intimidating voice to match it. Truths hurt and people who say the truth are branded as ‘haters’ in this part of the world, but Chris has managed to stay resolute and do his work [running football commentary and hosting sports programs] with much alacrity by the special grace of God.

As a sports commentator and host of various sporting activities, Chris finds himself commenting on various issues concerning football and whenever his opinion is seeked, he makes sure he says whatever is on his mind rather objectively without fear or favour. His bold utterances have earned him as one of the unbiased presenters in Ghana who is not afraid to call a spade a spade!

What many people didn’t know is that, aside being a sports person, Chris is also the choirmaster of his church, Believers House of Worship International, Nungua, also the venue for the launch of his maiden album ‘Oye Mame’.

The night wasn’t just for the launching of the album; it was turned into a full church service, the only thing missing was that, there wasn’t any offertory taken as it’s done at a normal Sunday church.

The invited guests were welcomed with good music – they were taken through worship and praises segments before the resident choir of the church; Living Echoes treated the audience to inspiring gospel tunes under the tutelage of their choirmaster Christopher Opoku.

The church auditorium turned into a mini gospel show when one of the best gospel musicians in Ghana, Moses OK was invited to dish out hits after hits to the gathering.

He is known for churning out good worship songs and he didn’t disappoint in inspiring the guests. It was as if the second coming of Jesus was due.

Immediately after, Pastor David [Impact Project] lighted the audience with his superb and funky performance. Though I detest comparism, I can say he is Ghana’s Firk Franklin. Christopher Opoku with assistance from the church choir took over the stage for the first package performance. They performed first ‘Oye Mame’, the title track. They followed it up with ‘Me Hwehwe Wo’ [I’m Looking For You] and climaxed with ‘Nkunim’ [Victory].

Reverend Yawson took over to treat the audience to three of his superb worship songs. After his performance, the General Overseer of Believers House of Worship International, Reverend Abraham Lamptey touted him [Rev. Yawson] as the Bishop of Gospel songs. He, therefore chastised Christians for their arrogance and proud for not recognizing leaders or pioneers such as Rev. Yawson.

The album was declared duly launched by Reverend Lamptey shortly after his wife; Mrs. Gloria Lamptey had dedicated the album to the glory of the Lord Almighty. Now that the album has been launched, are Ghanaians likely to see Chris mount various stages?

He said: “it is possible but just that I’m little bit picky. You realized from tonight’s launch, we didn’t set out to entertain; we set out to worship God and I would love to be part of a programme where genuinely we are worshipping God. Too many shows these days bring the gospel down at the expense of entertainment, I don’t really want to be part of that but I want to be part of a worship experience.” He said to wrap up the beautiful launch ceremony.

The album launch attracted sports journalist such as Prince Annang and Michael Katahena, both are Senior Sports Presenters at Metro TV. Also present was Nana Kwaku Agyemang, a top commentator and critic. The launch was chaired by Mr. Jojo Duncan, a high ranking figure in Ghana football. He is also the owner of Second Division side, Proud United. Mr. Clifford of Clifford Metals was also present.

Christopher takes inspiration from God as well as his late mother and hopes to combine his sports journalism as well as singing to praise the most High God.
