Highlife singer K. K. Fosu & hiplife rap duo 4x4 saved the grand finale of TV3’s Ghana Most Beautiful pageant from world-weariness. The show came off last Sunday at the newly furnished and luxurious National Theatre.
There were signs of boredom as the girls weren’t at their usual best; their performance didn’t match up to their various performances at TV3 studio B.
Equally good musicians like Screw Face, Rana, Slim Busterr, Kofi Nti, Kofi B gave a good account of themselves as their performances weren’t bad at all, but K. K. popularly known as D-Style came on stage with two of the evicted Ghana Most Beautiful contestants, he performed ‘Number One” and ‘Obaa Pa’ from this repertoire, managed to get the audience on their feet, dancing and clapping amidst singing along with him, for the whole duration K.K. was on stage, the auditorium looked like a nite club, he made sure the audience ask for more and more as he made way for 4x4.
Hip life rap duo 4x4, who launched the ‘World Trade Centre’ album at the Boomerang Nite Club last Saturday, came on stage at the right time to continue from where the D-style man left off, they took the audience further to the huge towers of the World Trade Centre as they are refer to the buttocks of the woman, comparing it to the huge twin towers, thus the World Trade Centre, since ladies buttocks are also twins.
When it was time for 4x4 to exit the stage, the audience preferred to have 4x4 perform than to have the presenter announce the winner of the contest as the Gideon the presenter of the show frequently ask “Do you want 4x4 or the results”, it was met with ‘we want 4x4’.
At the end of several performances including telling the audience the significance of names in the Ghanaian society, fashion and modeling section and questions and answers segment, Nasara the representative for Northern Region was adjudged the winner with 38.50, Lamisi (Upper East) obtained 36.33, Enam (Volta) got 15.42 and Yaa (Eastern) languished at the bottom with 9.75 percent of the total votes.
