Musician A-Plus For Ghana’s Parliament?

A Plus

After organising the maiden edition of the Ghana Music & Food Festival, which has been tagged by many as the most promising event of 2011, Hip Life musician and comedian A-Plus has declared his intentions to run for parliament in 2012 General Elections.

He will be vying for the Gomoa East Parliamentary seat in the Central Region as an independent candidate. He made the above intentions known few hours ago via his facebook status. He writes:

“Ladies and gentlemen, I am here today to formally inform you of my decision to contest the Gomoa East parliamentary seat as an independent candidate next year. For those of you who wish I don’t enter into mainstream politics, I am sorry for the disappointment. For those of you who think it’s a good decision please give me your support. Its time for the youth to take over…….Cheers.”

Do you think Ghana parliament is ready for a musician? Don’t forget former comedian Fritz Baffour is currently in Ghana’s parliament representing the NDC for the Ablekuma South.

Also ETV newscaster Gideon Aryeequaye will be vying for the NDC seat for the Weija Constituency for the next year’s elections. Former Miss Ghana Benita Sena Golomeke has also been reported of nursing her ambitions of contesting for the Ledzokuku Constituency in the 2012 for the ruling NDC.

It is difficult to win elections in Ghana as independent candidate. Join GhanaCelebrities.Com to support and wish A-Plus well.
