Abdul Sallam Mumuni Of Venus Films Banned By The Ministry Of Information & Film Regulatory Council!

Movie producer Alhaji Abdul Sallam Mumuni and CEO of movie power house, Venus Films Productions has been banned for a month whiles two others; Double D Production and Diamond Films have been fined.
Abdul Sallam, the man, who many believe masterminded the infamous ban of actress Yvonne Nelson, was banned by the Ministry of Information and the Film Regulatory Council for going against the standard directives – which is to release a classified movie.
Sallam went against the directives by releasing a different movie ‘Dirty Secret’ to the market – different from what was classified. ‘Dirty Secret’ has scenes of soft porn, homosexuality coupled with strong vulgar language. It’s a movie not suitable for certain segement of the public.
For his punishment Sallam was slapped with a year ban but the Film Producers Association of Ghana [FIPAG] pleaded on his behalf hence his ban was reduced from one year to one month with GHC2.000 fine.
It will be interesting to see how Sallam will cope with this ban, especially when he is one of the busiest producers in Ghana. I reckon the one month ban will be like a whole year to him.
Two others, Double D and Diamond Films were also fined 100 pounds each for faulting the same directives.
