M3nsa & Wanlov Dropped As Tinny Seals Through For MOBO 2010! But Can He Beat K’Naan & P-Square?

I don’t intend to start another controversy with this one but how popular is Tinny? Is he that better than the Fokn bois duo M3nsa and Wanlov combined together? I beg to differ…

This year’s Music Of Black Origin’s (MOBO) Awards in the Best African Act category had 15 nominees. The numbers have been trimmed down to five. Fokn Bois duo M3nsa and Wanlov Da Koborlor who were initially nominated failed to make the last five since they didn’t acquire enough votes.

According to the organizers of the awards, Tinny is the only artiste from Ghana to make the last five.

Tinny will be fighting with the Somalia born K’Naan, Nigerian’s sensational duo P-Square and JJC and Ethiopian’s Mulatu Astatke for the ‘Best African Act’.

Celebrating its 15th year, the MOBO Awards has helped champion the extraordinary rise of urban music over the past two decades from niche to now leading the UK charts, and will celebrate the cream of British artists from the past years at its star-studded ceremony in Liverpool, on October 20th this year.

The MOBO Tour is set to hit six of the UK’s hottest cities over six days between 13th October and 19th October 2010. By arrangement with Coda and SJM, the tour will be headlined by DJ and Boy Better Know frontmant, Skepta.

The chart-topping emcee will take to the stage alongside a host of fresh, new urban talent. Also on the line is Aggro Santos, Donae’o, Scorcher, Mz Bratt, Jodie Connor, Maverick Sabre, Rough Diamondz, and Angel.
